I'm bout to germ Kush x NL. I'll let you know how it goes if it matters to you in 4 months.
I would be very interested. I ended up pulling the trigger on Northern Skunk and passed on the Kush crosses for now, but I am still very interested. The Kush NorthernLights looks the most interesting to me, so please let me know how she goes.

Yield I couldn't comment on as I only really did it one time because I lost the clone when I got sick. I got around 20g off a little square pot. I'd say not that heavy yielding but not bad. Needs some veg. Flowering time was about 8 weeks.

I've got some Northern Skunk, Skunk Berry and Northern Berry mid flower right now. One of the NS is looking very much like the one pictured on the website. The other NS has pink pistils. I haven't tried the finished product yet but I don't think I am going to be disappointed.

The skunk berry is VERY frosty.

Wow! Thanks for sharing those, they look great!

Tell me more... How far along is she in the pics and if those are old pics tell me about the yield and how she smokes?

You will like the Northern Skunk. I ran it in my garden for years. It has a sweet skunk smell and taste to it. Very sticky, very nice buzz, respectable yield, easy trim, etc.

I eventually culled it from my garden due to it's strong odor. I could smell it standing accross the street from my house. No bueno with kids in the house

That was taken @ day 49 of flower. I have yet to sample it. I'll post pics once drying/curing is done. :)

HOLY SHIT! Definitely don't want everyone in the neighborhood smelling it. Did you use a carbon filter at all? Oddly neither of my 2 NS ladies have much fragrance at all. Same with NB but the SB has a good aroma. I'm curious how many you popped from seed. Did you get a lot of variation? I actually have one NS plant which has pink pistils but I cannot get a good photo of it for the life of me! Did you run into one of these by chance? It seems about 1 week behind the rest of everything, has larger flowers but less resin.

It was a 10 pack. This is going back quite a few years, but I recall settling on that female due to the stank. The others didn't have nearly the odor that this one did IIRC.

Funny, OGEvilGenius was suprised that it reeked like it did as well. I take it the pheno I had was not the norm ..... but it was a great plant in every way.

Anything's possible as they say. I'm pretty sure he doesn't do 1:1 crosses either so there is more than one donor parent potentially.

The Northern Skunk above is definitely SS leaning btw.

Can you go in depth a bit as to what you mean by 1:1 crosses and more than 1 donor parent? Would this be similar to open pollination?

I'm still very n00b with this being my first proper grow with proper lighting, equipment, seeds and whatnot. I am however still very interested in learning about breeding practices.

It means he runs large selections to find more than one parent plant that is similar in nature. IE: 4 or 5 females to 4 or 5 males. I could be wrong about this being his methodology, but I seem to recall reading that he went this route.

This lowers the chance of bad recessive traits showing up in lines while reinforcing good ones if done correctly.

Very interesting. So in a sense would this be done in a similar fashion to open pollination, just with a selected bunch as opposed to say a whole field of plants?

Yup. And when you consider the math in the matter, it makes a lot of sense if you have the room. There are a few breeders out of BC who do this. Chimera is another.

The odds you get an unwanted trait expressed that is rare and requires two recessive matches is lowered using this method.

ok you guys are making me really think about peakseeds and picking up a few of their beans. I was really looking into their northern lights and skunk berry, I also heard that he is giving away C99 as a freebee, is that true??

Last I checked heard from a friend on another forum is that he is out of C99 and currently making more beans. My most recent order I ordered 2 packs of Kush x NL and he threw in a 3rd pack for free. Also a friend of mine recently ordered and got a pack of Kush x Blueberry as freebies. Seems like the freebies are at random.
