Hey nothing wrong with that at all, especially when you are maximizing your potential yield from those. Too many people don't get any mold ever because they don't leave them long enough to build a potential for a large harvest and possibly a little black mold occasionaly!
Daaaamn that's crazy. I didn't know you could get mold from aphid secretions. That's fuckin' gross dude! Good job though. Not much you could do about the bugs that wouldn't mess ups the rest of the crop. Did you consider predictor bugs like lady bugs and praying mantis? People always talk about it but I'm not sure if it actually works. Also did you ever have problems with heat while you had them covered up? I used to live in the Madera Ranchos between Madera an Fresno and it was miserable hot. Anyways props on your plants, looks good dude
Thanks bro. Yeah Bayer citrus, fruit and vegetable is what gets rid of aphids for me. But I didn't notice them till flowering and I didn't want to put a systemic pesticide into the plants so close to harvest. They did well tho. They were rootbound and went through thrips, spidermites, and aphids lol. Survivors for sure. I have a powerful fan in their oscillating at all times and the blackout cover has four "lightproof" slits in each corner, so not many heat issues. I take the cover off at night, so that helps. I went to get ladybugs but they wont ship them to the local nurseries because of the heat right now. I have praying mantis around but they like bigger pray. Green lacewings have helped control the population too though. I used to go to the Ranchos and party like hell man lol. Fun times out there.
lady bugs work real good but theres a lot of variables to take into account when putting them on your plants....like time of day you do it spraying the plants with a light soap etc to keep them "sticking " on them at the start and not flying away etc....done properly they will work but its a effort
After a few stressful months you get used to it lol. And it is much less stressful when I dont have to pull a tarp twice a day.

You mean the green fig beetles. Big shiny green junebugs? I had them Around here but they just came to my compost piles to lay eggs. They look cool but I have heard they can do signiicant damage. I just smashed them with a shovel lol. Aphids are a bitch in flowering. I now use bayer citrus, fruit, and vegetable on everything as a preventative for both aphids and white flies. I have not seen any more aphids since I started using it.
ya we got no choppers here at all lol.. its good to not worry about them . stumbleweed--( iranian x seawarp x swamp skunk ) is a fast growing strain for sure and is nice smoke .
If you spray them with soda diluted with water their wings stick... release them in the afternoon and water the area before you let them go... they can't fly for a few days.. When the soda completely evaporates they can spread their wings again...by that time they should feel right at home if there is enough food.. Once it runs out they leave!!
