Hey guys just wondering were you are all at in your outdoor grows? I live at about the 52 parallel and these are my girls.

I have been watering with miracle grow general fertilizer for veg (dont care what you say, these girls have been loving them) and i believe they are on week 1.5 of flower and will be switching nutes to a 15-30-15 type.

Lets see some pics, try to list your parallel if you're comfortable.

My gorilla grow last I looked at it were all small.. Need to go plant earlier next year... That and take some manure out at harvest. I don't go out there much, its on military lands. Think I've been out there 2 times since planting. Should be going out tomorrow. Will post some pics when I get a chance.

Military lands! That's hilarious. Hey dr. tomb. I am in Canada. I'm a little leery about posting much up here. I've tried dr. greenthumbs iranian haze and iranian OG kush outdoors this summer. I bought them because they said early finishers that were supposed to be done in late august to early sept. I think it's more like the end of sept to first few weeks in Oct but I'm trying to remain optimistic. They're in flower but how far along..not sure. I am in BC. How about you? What strains did you do? Were they outdoors by any chance? What province? I may just stick with kootenay mountain white grizzly in future but we'll see. I must confess that there are many strains that I would like to try though for outdoors in BC. But I know that white griz is awesome outdoors. Not a big yield but it's consistently early with good end product in my opinion.

I'm right around 51, just chopped this top this morning. Not quite ripe but I had no choice. White grizzly also. I wouldn't say its really that low a yielded, you can consistently pull 6oz each. Mold can be a problem though and it's very very leafy.

What strains worked for you outdoors bcdigger? Yeah. I agree with you. There is a fair amount of leaf and you do get about 6 oz a plant for white griz. Done very early september. Sometimes late august depending on the plant and the placement of it in light. I wish they had fem seeds. I'm curious what strains worked for you though outdoors in the 51 lat range.

The white and jumbo have both worked well in the past. Haven't tried too many others and most i tried never finished on time. Still developing my strain list, hopefully gonna run some getaway strains next year.

I am at 45 on the east coast. My furthest along is Special Kush #1 from Royal Queen. She is about 12ft tall and has been in flower for about 3-4weeks.
What strains are you growing dr.tombs ?

a 12 foot plant growing in Canada? That's amazing!!! BcDigger what did you think of the jumbo? Is it any different to the white griz? Would you say it would finish growing outside in BC before the end of September? Is it full of leaves too? Thanks.

theyre fairly simillar from what i recall. not quite as leafy but still lots, its hard to say too because i was more novice and was brand new to guerrilla. plus deer problems. but they did finish end of sept

I'm another ~51 parallel here (in western Canada) :) Not growing outdoors this year, but I will be next year. Just wanted to get a feel for the weather patterns in this area for the last couple years before I go big outside.

well it was bloody hot out in the bush in BC i can tell you that! Hotter than a hookers pussy! I strongly urge anyone growing outdoors to use hydro crystals or water bags. You can get them at a few nursery stores but some don't carry them. You have to look around. They'll keep your plants alive if you can't get to them for a few weeks. I had an elk stomp over my swamp grow so it's important to make some kind of barrier. Parachord is also an excellent way to keep the deer and elk away. You can make a parachord fence all around them if you have trees and branches around. Thanks for telling me about how the jumbo did. I sure wish they had feminized. I might try white widow and BC big bud as they're fem. They come from bcseedking. Has anyone grown out any of these in BC? Or BC Juicyfruit? BC digger, what strain is that huge cola that you cut down?

That's white grizzly? You the man! Mine never got that big. Was that indoors or outdoors? You did awesome with that. Would people buy that bud do you think or is it to airy? My white griz looked like a eaten corn on the cob and it was sold/spongy. It was awesome. Only did it one summer though.

The secret to Cola's like that are big containers, 20 gallon minimum. I think that is the most important lesson I have learned as a grower, next to water PH/TDS. I found my yields easilly doubled and trippled on some, just by upping my container size. 20 gallons are even to small if your planting in late May/early June, I had all my 20 gallons rootbound in six to eight weeks and I could only go and water every two weeks. I have found that even my autos are pulling 4 ounces minimum in these containers ( Cheese XXL Auto Dinafem). Don't listen to anyone when they tell you anything more than 5 gallons is a waste for autos, especially the 80 day autos and up. Anyway enough rambling, just wanted to share what I consider valuable info lol.

I appreciate that. I bought 30 litre bags of composted soil for each plant and they didn't grow very big. Was a huge lesson for me. But I did learn about organic bug sprays, making a rope fence around your plant perimeter, and that planting in a marsh of muddy area where the soil is soggy gets you really big plants so long as an elk doesn't come along and stomp them down, which of course happened to me.

Would anyone like to chime in about using Geo pots outdoors? Has anyone tried them outside?

Welcome to the conversation boys. Yeah im in Sask, think spek is in Albt.

Im currently growing BBXXL (wasnt even sure if they would work) Its going to be a late finisher, thats forsure. They just started flowering, not a chance they will finish anytime close to those white griz. Ill have to note that strain for next year. If you Sub up to this thread ill keep you all posted on my final trimmed outcome.

Yeah i thought it was a sure fire way to not have someone randomly walk onto the plot. That and tack on a few extra charges if i get caught lol.

Yeah i hear you on that loud and clear. I did get Sunshine #7 and it has polymer crystals that soak up the water then release when the ground is drying. Im defiantly going to be adding more this year to the soil.

Also at the end of the season when we go to harvest the gorilla plot, i wanna take manure and mix it in to the soil, use Roundup Grass and Weed killer to kill all the grass, Ill then do it again the day before we plant next year (says it only needs a few hours before its safe for surrounding plants, also says it doesn't leach into the soil). The gorilla grow plants are so much smaller and are competing to much with surrounding vegetation.

Anyways here are some pics:
