Root problem

I just bought some starts from feminized seeds, and the guy put 2-3 plants in each solo cup, they are about 8 inches tall each! And when I tried to transplant 2 or them from a container, the roots were all braded together, what should I do?

put the cups in something and soak them good. get them wet enough they will come apart ok. but i wouldnt get them from him again

Won't combing it tear the roots???

It doesn't really matter if some roots get damaged it will just stunt the growth a fair bit and take a while to come back

Either that or I'd take a big clone off each and pot individually

Pics? If they are 8" tall, I would definitely snip them as close to the soil as possible, and start them off as clones.
