Okallright (aka - Mainliner) has been pissing all over RIU for the last month and a half. Every time he's banned, he comes back with the same retarded questions, shitty threads, and fail trolling. I'm all for people learning to grow, just not him. All these questions have been asked and answered before.
I totally get that, but as far as I know this wasn't a thread about Mainliner or his trolling, and I'm not friends with him by any name he goes by. This is a thread, started by someone who starts question threads all the time, telling people to use google instead of start question threads, and that stinks of hypocrisy to me. Plus this is about the 10000th time THIS suggestion has been posted as well, I'm not sure why having a bunch of "Use google" threads is somehow less cluttering than the others.
Just admit that you are just as tired of the completely lazy and retarded newbie threads, that invite lazy and retarded information to be spread, as everyone else... "Can I feed my plants nutes outdoors?" Seriously?

The thing is that if they are genuine questions I'm genuinely NOT tired of it. It just reminds me of high school when kids raise their hand and ask questions the teacher has already gone over. You can make fun of them, you can tell them they are dumb for having to ask, or you can sit down and help them understand and maybe get to feel good about yourself for helping someone. Or you can just ignore it. To me, personally, the first two options are repugnant. If I can help I like to help, if I can't I try to ignore it. The way I look at it, is every time someone asks a question that I know the answer to, that is an opportunity for me to help someone and feel better about myself. I don't understand why the question merely being there is so bothersome to people, it's not like they are messaging you with it, they are just putting it out there that they have a question and giving you the option, not the obligation, to answer it. Now if they are personally messaging you with hundreds of questions, yes that is inane and should be stopped, but honestly it doesn't bother me to look in the "Newbie Central" section and see Newbie questions. If this thread was in the "Advanced Growing" section I would totally agree with it.
What's funny is all the questions that get asked are answered in those same stickies. 101 already asked questions, New members read this first, etc...
You're right, and it's sad that people don't realize exactly how available all the info is. I think though that sometimes it can be overwhelming, and trying to find the answers to questions you barely know how to ask can be like trying to find the definition of a word that you have no idea how to spell. You MIGHT be able to sound it out enough to find the right page in the dictionary, but I'm sure there are people out there desperately searching the "N" section to find out what these Gnome things everyone's talking about are.

I'm pretty lazy (In some ways), and I don't like to be a hypocrite so I can't hate on other people for faults I am rife with. Plus I was a TA/Tutor all through high school and college, and I've spent quite a lot of time with special needs and developmentally disabled kids and people, so I am used to and quite enjoy helping out people who have trouble catching on as fast an everyone else, or who need to be told the same answer a couple extra times.
