Yeah I know what you mean. I haven't grown anything with my compost yet but I've been cultivating it for about two years in a 30 gal Rubbermaid. I used to have a rooftop garden but my land lord made me take it down because my roof wasn't "structurally sound" but I just couldn't stand the thought of wasting all those precious nutrients. So I've just been making a lot of compost though it's not a traditional EWC because I'm pretty sure most my worms died because my mix was almost all old veg/fruit making it an acidic anaerobic mess. For the past few months I've been adding a lot more brown material to counter act this. Probably thrown in a a batch of worms soon see how they fair. Can't wait to get to the point where I can use it in a grow...ahh, romaine lettuce eh? I have a customer that has a Mexican restaurant, and sometimes they have these gigantic sealed bags of salad mixes that get a lil "soft" so he brings them by and I throw the salad mix in a 5 gallon bucket with a layer of soil on top to keep the flies away, and a week later its nice and mushy for them to eat up, makes the fastest EWC, I've seen so far, but one thing I haven't done yet is get a food processer or a coffee grinder for their food, I want one, but don't look forward to cleaning it... seems like a funky job... But I know it makes the food more 'edible" so to speak
Does anyone use compost in indoor grows? I feel Im Asking for pests but outdoor is not an option
