Last night I weighed what I harvested from an autoflower 12 days earlier which has been jarred at 63% humidity for 5-7 days: 103 grams. This was under an 85w (actual) Blackstar UFO. 1.2 g/w. Photos of the plant start
here (<<link). Harvest is this
post (<<link).
I wasn't too proud of the condition of that plant. It's one of three grows since I switched nutrients and began battling an acidic soil, sometimes using harsh methods. I've got that figured out. I'm embarrassed to say it was as simple as overfeeding.
I was only running 21w sq./ft. I've added four Cree 9.5w (60w equiv) LEDs from Home Depot ($8 each) to bring it up to 30.75.
It's currently setup on the third of the problematic grows (<<link) mentioned above. I'm excited to see how the next one (seedling now) does with the more sensible level of light and my breakthrough discovery (ha) about the acidic soil.
Prior to LED, I got 180g from the same autoflower strain grown under 162w T5HO with two CFLs added in mid-flower. I don't know how to express that as g/w. But, it's close to 1.
Every time the topic of HydroGrowLED comes up, Cammie's unsavory reputation, etc. you seem to take it as an attack on how well the lights work. I've never said anything bad about the lights. For example, I think California Lightworks is overpriced but I know people get great results. I think Blackstar is overpriced and I doubt I'd buy another. I think there are better values available. But, it obviously grows well.
My sentiment about HGL is similar. But, HGL has the added attributes of scandal, disreputable conduct, etc. which doesn't arise with the other companies. I only mentioned the reputation of HGL silencing complaints (by grassing out the complainers to authorities) because that should be a factor in anyone's decision to apply for the $5k prize.
