Why do people buy the idea that enemies can be bombed into submission?

Politics is about human nature and is intermingled with philosophy. IF a person has a core philosophy it will often guide their politics.

If a person doesn't have a consistent core philosophy, they will probably be elected.

Have a great day.
Literally has nothing to do with what i said. "international community" is apolitical

Even the Iraqi people want US intervention this time, you created the power vacuum and armed the terrorists...

See, that's the problem with being part of a collective such as a nation state. When you (Harrekin) say "you" created it. It is assumed that all people that reside in the geo-political gang turf known as the USA are part of that.

I agree with you that the USA government had a hand in creating all of the turmoil in the middle east....by design.

One interesting world war one tale. I heard way back in the trench warfare days the opposing troops held a cease fire on x-mas eve and actually intermingled a bit, playing games etc. then when the cease fire was over the soldiers from both sides resumed the puppetry of killing people they didn't even know, because some "authority" told them they had to.

Herding cats is harder than herding sheep.

Somalia is a living example of how a society might function absent a central authoritarian ruling class. How are you going to get the old girl to the top of the hill? So what happens when you run out of hill?

If you use Somalia as an example, then you must accept all of the nation states WITH a central authority as your rationale, which doesn't bolster your argument. Can you say genocide by government? I know you can.

No keys? I am a wise man on a mountain. I LIVE on top of a hill. Gravity is one law we all must obey even if we have a long flowing beard.

I don't accept all of them. Many are just downright horrible. As you said, "genocide by government"............ So you can leave home, but can't go back?

Can you point to a body that represents the "international community" that isn't political?
lol wut. I am part of the international community, you are part of the international community, some tribe in the middle of the amazon is part of the international community, some random kid in iraq is part of the international community.

Would you like any more examples or does that suffice?

Well, you and I are political, don't know about the others. None of use can speak for the others, so not representing the community. So, no, that doesn't suffice.

Perhaps the meaning you intend would better be described as having an "inter humanity" meaning rather than international. International implies nations, which is usually construed as people from nation states.

I belong to the community of people that abide by the non initiation of aggression principle, if some random kid from Iraq believes that, we have a kinship of sorts greater than a person that occupies the same nation state I do. Peace.

semantics shemantics

I offer you another green beer sir. The meanings of words are important. It is also important not to let some people perform a given act that if you did it would mean one thing, but if they did it, it could mean another. So I offer this toast, "fuck coercive government" . Bottoms up.
