Ayahuasca retreat

Has anyone been to a retreat in Peru that they would recommend? I got some miles stacked up and I wanted to go down there and experience ayahuasca the right way the first time. I am going to be going by myself so I am looking for some place safe.

I'd like to go to peru just because of the land and the cultures and history.... ayahuasca would be a mission while being there of course, but I would try to avoid tourist traps.

It depends, the only ayahuasca ceremonies that I have done are from Santo Daime. The guy who gives it to us gets it shipped from Brazil and lived with the church for two years. He does it somewhat different. It's never been unenjoyable. Apparently one time everyone was forced to sit on these chairs and couldn't get off. That would've blown. But I have never experienced him doing that to us.
I wouldn't feel comfortable doing a traditional ceremony either, but that is the best I've got because it is hard to find these things on the internet, I've found. Word of mouth got me this far..

Sounds like your jealous . I don't give a fuck about money, money doesn't make me happy. If you think it does, it's because you've never had enough of it. Some of these retreats aren't as big of a rip off as people be saying. If you wanted to stay the night on the beach in a nice hotel in california your gona be paying what these people want for a week long life changing experience. Keep hatin dude.

I am looking for a life changing experience and an adventure. I like to travel, I like the rainforest. I enjoyed the shit out of Costa Rica.. I imagine I would enjoy Peru as well.. I am not going directly for the ayahuasca .. I have read about it and if I'm going to go to Peru I would like to experience it.

Can someone please explain the difference between Santo Diame and ayahuasca to me? I would be down to do this at home.. My thought process was that I would get more of the effect doing this in the middle of the forest than in my living room.

I want a proper experience. I would pay 10 grand if that's what it took to secure safety and a good experience . I don't want to be sold off or raped or left in the amazon to die. There is no dollar amount is what I'm saying.. If I need to pay someone extra for them to truly care about the Ceremony than so be it. If we were that poor we would be doing the same thing.. Trying to give the foreigner a good experience, while ripping them off at the same time. I have no problem giving to the less fortunate. In reality.. They are much happier than we are.. So they are just chasing the paper that made us unhappy from the start.

there is little difference between Santo daime and ayahuasca. I was told that daime was a 'more gentle' version of ayahuasca, of course when he said that, we were like 'GENTLE?! No.' I know that the daime is made from chakruna(viridia) and b caapi. The ayahuasca that they provide is.. Hmm good question.
if I were to make daime I'd consider it ayahuasca because that's what it is. Its just what they call the sacrament.

You can have a proper ayahuasca experience in my backyard for 10 grand. I'll go down to 9k just for you! .

My understanding of Auyuasca so far is, it is' intention is to make you uncomfortable... shake you to your core- your true self that has been buried by the matrix we are enslaved in

it is just as important to prepare as it is to experience.
