It's the Winds Man, It's the Winds Fault

There has been a large buildup of ice at one pole that the global warming fanatics do not want to address... That is a fact.
No there hasn't, and scientists aren't fanatics but they do clearly address it. Rapid ice gains in a single year do not indicate growth of the ice caps. First off, they indicate huge ice losses in the previous year. Secondly, this growth is in area. The surface need only reach 32 degrees in order to freeze, so it doesn't indicate record low temperatures, it just means that the ice which melted in the previous year refroze on the surface. When volume is measured, it is clear that the ice caps are shrinking.

^^ this is where we started.^^

Yes, you can increase area while decreasing volume. However, the area that increased also has volume. AC is arguing like the area that increased has no volume because volume is different from Area. Any 4th grader would look at him like an idiot yet he continues to parrot it.

Yes, one year is an incredibly small sample size. As is the 150 years of global climate data we have. However, the left seems content to ignore over a decade of flat or cooling temperatures in an effort to continue to wage war against capitalism, power, wealth, and industrialization.

So Ginwilly... How long do you want to wait for them to stop discounting what they do not choose to believe?? 10 years? 20 years? 100 years?? In the 70's we were facing an oncoming ice age so if it flips every 40-50 years they should be getting ready to warn us that we are going to become an ice cube unless we stop burning fossil fuels.
No doubt the alarmists are pushing an agenda. The deniers have an agenda also as the left likes to point out. Hypocrisy is winning for both sides.

There's arguments that the science is settled so we need more money to research that science.

There's arguments that so what if it's man made, that doesn't mean man can do anything to fix it.

Meanwhile, my greatest concern is that the lunatic fringe from either side will be making policy. We've shown over and over that the squeaky wheel gets the grease.

The lack of logic stemming from the pub idea of cap and trade escapes me. We are polluting too much, so the answer is to charge them more while they pollute too much. Then the dems adopt it as their strategy, only tweak it a bit to dictate who gets that money from the polluters, say "but it was a bad republican idea first" to convince us it's good...

I'm just enjoying the argument. While it goes on, no major damage will be done to "fix it". People will be more aware of their lifestyle choices and maybe stop shitting on the kitchen floor (most anyway, some people just shit on floors).

People flying around the world in private jets to lecture us about our carbon footprint also bug me.

All of the extinction level events on the planet have been the effect of global cooling, not warming.

We need to spend money on learning to adapt, not on trying to hold the planet in place as all of the evidence indicates the climate of the planet is in constant flux.

Let's just focus on what the climate scientists are saying. Forget Al Gore, forget Christopher Monckton, forget the politics. Let's even forget the talking points on both sides, and focus solely on the science. Yes, some Al gore followers made dumb statements about polar bears (I never did) and yes clearly there are people with political agendas on both sides of the debate.

So let's just stick with the science. The stakes are high.

Citation required. You need to supply us with peer reviewed science from a relevant set of experts concluding that the earth is cooling.

As the great white bear said during one of these debates. How bout figuring out how to get us off this rock?

And yes, we will adapt.

And yes, over 99% of species have gone extinct. Forcing me to change my life to save the Arizona sand gnat is not really an option I cling to.

I find this irresponsible. It's like saying, "let's not worry about how our actions are effecting our ecosystems, and instead act as though we have options away from the planet".

I think the slogan from the indigenous people is spot on here. "We have no planet B."

I was on board with the first paragraph, then you went with stick with science, insert hyperbole here.

How high are the stakes? Are they even high? Can man adapt to the changes with only minor inconvenience, no noticeable inconvenience to most, or great inconvenience or even life threatening to us all? Are we facing extinction level events for mankind or our are A/C bills going up?

Like you said, stick to science.

False. The greatest of all was the permian extinction. 96% of all species were wiped out in one fell swoop.

There have been 5 short glaciation periods and they have all been recent in geological terms.

Saying "stick with the science" is hyperbole?

If something is gaining in size it is not shrinking. I know you want to COMPLETELY DISREGARD the data by trying to fold it in with data over time and saying it is not significant. Which was my original point.

What happens if the ice cap gains this year like last year? Will it simply be a 2 year anomaly? What happens after 10 years? Are you still going to call it a fluke? I mean, after all, global temperatures have been level or decreasing for over a decade and you guys still wont shut up...

Rest your case because you lost it a long time ago...
the ice caps are not gaining in size you fucking stooge.

I didnt point to them, I said you were overlooking them. I also said that 1 year is too small of a sample along with 150 years. You overlooked that too. You are excellent at overlooking what you do not want to see which was my ORIGINAL POINT....

Thanks for playing!!
you are fucking deluded beyond all belief.

the ice caps are shrinking by each and every metric.

if you had a single piece of data to show they were growing, you'd have posted it.

shuit the fuck up you deluded little shit.

No doubt the alarmists are pushing an agenda.
AGENDA! AGENDA! AGENDA!

you are false, and an idiot.

scientists are doing science, and idiots like you are buying into the AGENDA of the same organizations and institutions which mere decades ago were pushing an AGENDA to fuzzy the science on the dangers of tobacco in order to delay legislation.

idiots like you refuse to learn from history, revise it, or deny it completely, so of course we are repeating history again.

that is 100% thanks to idiots like you buying a bogus AGENDA.

notice how i used the word AGENDA correctly, shitloaf?

go sit in the corner you fucking dunce.

Seriously dude?

I'm starting to think you do this on purpose.

You said stick with science then followed with your hyperbole that also came with no science to back it up.
Well I'm not sure what you're referring to so I'm going to assume you're doing it again. I like how you came into the thread trying to sound like you were moderate and open minded but have your feet firmly planted in the denier camp. That was a smart strategy, most people won't see through you.

95% of the scientists are paid to prove global warming and people wonder why we have so much data supporting it... LOL!!!

Religion....

you're talking to the same idiot who says forest fires cause global cooling, and the same idiot who sticks with that idiotic assertion despite having zero evidence to back up his position.

it is fucking hopeless to talk sense into these deluded idiots.

these are the same idiots who thought scientific polling about the presidency was a left wing media conspiracy just because obama was winning.

they refuse to accept reality, their blathering about growing ice caps proves it beyond any reasonable doubt.

they hide from reality in their own manufactured, alternate reality bubble.
