Just great. The fucking racist "reverend" is helping Obama pick the new AG.

Reading between the lines, he just wants an AG that is biased against the Ferguson cop.

I wish he would offer some advice on US nuclear policy as well.

From the article:

According to a Politico profile in August, in the aftermath of the racially charged protests in Ferguson, Missouri, Sharpton has become Obama's "go-to man" on race issues.

The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment about whether Sharpton is involved in the decision-making process for Holder's successor.

Well, I really didn't have to read between the lines, you smarty you. From the Article:

"As I stood with the families of Michael Brown of Ferguson, Missouri, and Eric Garner of Staten Island, New York, and called on the Justice Department to take over the criminal investigations of those cases …. today, we hope Attorney General Holder will authorize this before his departure or that it becomes the first order of business for his successor," Sharpton said.

scalia wields far more power than any AG ever will. how do you feel about him?
Scalia is a very conservative justice. Some (including me) would say he's very far right. Certainly too far right for many.

But he was confirmed unanimously by the senate in 1986. That doesn't mean much today, I know, but at one time he was considered very competent to serve on the court.

what do you think of the fact that he called voting rights a "racial entitlement"?

It was a dumb statement on his part. I can't imagine what the fuck he was thinking when he said that. But he said it, and so he should be held accountable.

I'm just not sure how to hold a Supreme Court Justice accountable for anything.

Term limits have been tossed about, but the idea of a life-time appointment was to take some of the corruption of appointments out of the equation. It was also designed to make them independent of influence from the executive or legislative branch. That's the idea anyway.

I've read the founders arguments for lifetime appointments and they make sense, I'm just not completely sold it's working as intended.

I would hope if one of the justices suffered from organic brain syndrome or something, the other justices would talk him into retiring. They are human too though, and we are all fallible.

One thing I'm always fearful of: the court being dominated by the left or right. It's somewhat balanced now, but there's no law that says it must remain that way. What if a certain president (left or right, take your pick) had a 2-term presidency in which he/she replaced 5 justices? And what if his/her party just happened to control both the House and Senate during the confirmations? That would be bad.

I'm pretty conservative, but I would hate a world ruled by only conservatives.

Have you ever watched "The Pelican Brief" (an excellent movie based upon the book of the same name by John Grisham)? If not, you should...

he shares that line of thinking, which is why al sharpton and jesse jackson earn all his derision while scalia never gets even the slightest mention from him.
Yes Buck, Scalia is probably a racist. And I do not share his line of thinking.

Sharpton and Jackson intentionally insert themselves into any situation in which anyone yells "racism". They pander to anyone with a camera and microphone, trying to become the next MLK. They are not as concerned about black people as they are about their reputation.

Black people should be ashamed to be spoken for by either of these two hornet-nest-shakers.

you seem especially fine tuned at inventing racism from blacks where there is none and looking the other way when whites are incredibly explicitly racist.

and you like comments calling obama a kenyan homosexual.

but you're totally not a racist.
