Due to it becoming clear that the BML SPYDR 600 that I chose the spectrums for to be good for both veg and flower, has a major short-coming; too much red for vegging (though doing a fine job of flowering). I pretty much knew that reed should be on a separate switch, but guys were growing seedlings under 3000K COBs, so...
I have concluded that this example (sans red control) does not qualify as the LED Company I've Been Waiting For.
Amare Tech is a new-comer. Unlike BML, their panels were designed by a mj grower, the owner of the company, thus providing even umoles across the entire tent
Each panel has separate red/white o/o switches, which allows the grower to engage as needed, as well as piggy-back electric connections. Ultimately, he sees his panels as a system, where up to 4 panels can be connected electrically
I received both a SS 100 and SS 260 on September 18th. The 260 is waiting in the wings for the best plant to develop under the SS 100 (soon to be replaced with a SS 150).
Anyway although I was well aware that watts are not created equal, the SS 100 replaced the 2 white ufos (~ 100w total )that Jeff gifted me last December. They came san lenses, so I kept them closer to the seedlings and clones, but within 2 days it was clear that the SS 100 was a entirely different animal. Clearly not all watts are created equal. Intensity is the key. The clones that failed to root under the 2 ufos, quickly rooted under the SS 100.
The SS 100 appears to be a great light for a small perpetual grower, but when combined could easily bring 2-4 small plants to harvest. I call it The Little Engine That Could
Initially,, I had the SS 100 at 14", but after 24 hours had to move it up ~ 20" so the leafs could adjust
So here we are not quite 10 days later
Clones are in the upper left
