does anybody know a rough estimate of 264 watts of cfl on for 18 hours a day..how much does that increase electric bill by?

it is impossible to give a figure without first knowing what your elec. company is charging you per watt-hour... regardless, i can say for certain that it will be completely unnoticable on your bill, as im sure your bill fluctuates from month to month... i was running close to 600w of lights and a fan and noticed no major increase in my bill... dont sweat it, there are plenty of more pertinent things to worry yourself with about an indoor grow than the elec. bill.

0.264 watts x 18 hr = 4.752 kwh

now find out how much a kilowatt cost you and times it with 4.75 and thats how much it cost for a day.

Wow, Hawaii is five *times* the rate of Idaho, quite a difference. It's almost worth it to buy a thousand rechargeable batteries, charge them up in Idaho, then fly to Hawaii and discharge them back into the grid. Guess they might stop and question someone carrying a thousand batteries though. Heh.

it costs alot of money to run power lines across the open ocean to hawaii..:mrgreen::mrgreen:

well im using 6 40watt clfs and my dad said it will hardly make a difference to bill and if u grow in winter u use more electric anyway for heating lol.
