Party cup, roots showing out bottom , transplant?

This is my 3rd grow. First starting from a party cup though. I have an AK48 fem, that's 2 weeks old from spouting. I watered today and noticed multiple roots poking out the bottom. I checked yesterday and they weren't showing. Should I transplant as soon as the soil is dry enough? It just now starting its third full node.

its called air pruning, the roots will go back inside, and you have time, they have found the bottom and now they grow up and out searching for water and food.

How long should I wait?

The soil won't be dry enough to transplant for 2 days. Should I let it go longer than that?

Dry out and water three or four more times. Then transplant. Your plant wants to know its boundaries..

That would be nearly two more weeks. So the roots won't continue to grow out the bottom? For some reason I thought they would.

Each time it dries out it grows more complex roots. The top gets bigger and it dries out faster. The first drying May take three days. But the second might take 2.5 and the third 2. So 8 to 10 days. Then when transplanting it will grow faster and be less stressed.

Jesus is correct^^, potup now otherwise the roots dry out and fall of, that seriously slow growth,
and delays harvest, important to remember if you grow autos,
use 30% perlite to avoid root compaction later a similar situation,
that just pisses you and the plant off!

Now I'm confused. So you're saying transplant asap?

You need to read some books on roots. If the plant is healthy all you do is grow roots. The top will catch up.
And who gives a flying fuk about auto flower strains. Real growers wouldn't waste time or space on them. 12 to 17 percent THC... At best.

You truly know nothing about roots. Or their affects on the plant, except that they feed the plant. A little knowledge is a dangerous thing. I use pots that air trim ALL ,my roots. Cloth pots are made and bought just for that reason. And your afraid of air trimming because you don't understand it's affects on the plant.
Your one of those that think the height of the plant is a gauge for everything. And you grow for heights instead on complexity of branches and closeness of nodes.

So I assume it's ok to gently pull the plant out of the cup to inspect the roots? I've read where people done that. What are your thoughts?

Gently invert the pot tap the bottom with your hand and inspect the roots ..
avoid heat and light, sniff them to sniff for mold infection or serious over watering issues that may arise this time of year

I was able to get the plant out easily and check the root ball. I'm going to transplant tonight. There's circulation at the bottom so I think it's ready. The root ball felt nice and compact.
