damn these lights are that good huh? bongsmilie
Bro, all I can say is that it takes a lot for me to be impressed and I'm impressed. Haven't seen anything flower as fast and obtain the density/weight these things put out. Will have to wait to try the 4200k in veg until I build a bigger veg area.

abso-fuckin-lutely!
i replaced a 400w hps in a 3x3 silver edition tent and this light far exceeds what the light it replaced did. my last harvest of 9 plants i had only 11 lower buds go in to the trim pile. even though they were fully mature they were just a bit too small to trim. every other bud went into jars. i have never came close to having that much usable mature lowers from any plant grown under hps ever. never had bud this dense before either.

next to that tent i have a secret jardin 4x4 with a 600w hps. the 3x3 is matching it's out put with ease. with much denser buds, a smaller footprint, less heat and less electricity its hard to beat.

i was planning on replacing the 600w with two sun system 315w units but i've since decided turn that tent into a second veg/seedling/mother tent and add two more silver edition 3x3's, each with one of these lights. i figure that set up will use less wattage and produce less heat but easily double production of my previous hps set ups.

Many of the same points I've been posting in my thread, no popcorn (=great penetration), buds dense as they can be, matching 600 hps yield/coverage with 315w, no heat... I was specially blown away because I did a bunch of testing of low-end LED's which produced next to nothing in comparison.

All right I believe I'm ready to try the CMH. I all ready have 240 volts in my grow room so I think I'll order the kit from advance tech as I have a few reflectors laying around. For now I'm going to use it to supplement my 600 watt HPS in a 6x5 flower room. I see it comes with the 4k bulb will this suffice or should I look for the 3100k bulb?

imo the 3100k elite agro will be better for flowering, that's the one I use and the results are great.

did you try the 4K in flowering? It worked great for me.
No not yet, the spectrums are close and both will flower, would need to do a side by side with same strain clones to see if there's any significant difference. Interesting thing on the 4200k is that advacetech recommends that colour/spectrum but has no data to provide in comparison to the 3100k. Don't know if I'll be able to do that side by side as I'm pretty well done testing mode with CMH, the 3100k has proven itself so I'm good with that. I have a second fixture firing up shortly and have 4200K bulb available bout nothing to grow out that would give me a solid comparison/control, so I'll be using the 3100k.

Advance tech only uses the MOGUL bulb, right?
Philips data here...

It only comes in 4140K, right? So that's why they don't have 3100K data.
Also that mogul bulb has WAY more UVB

Are your 3100K t12 or t9?

They (advanced) provide a mogul socket adapter, the lamp itself is a T12 and comes in unprotected (not recommended) and protected. It also comes in 3100k and 4200k, 210w and 315w, model number is 930, that's it for the Elite Agro. They have some others in their Allstart line but they're not the same specs, nor tried them so can't comment on how they'd compare. I'd stick to the Elite Agro's. Attaching the best references I've found for these bulbs, one is from Ceramatek but lists both the 4200/3100's.

If Advanced Tech is offering the agro that is a big change! He used to call the Agro the 'dildo lamp', and dislikes them greatly compared to the mogul version, last time I talked to him 3 months ago.

The Mogul version has slightly less PPF/W than the agro, and much shorter lifespan, but way more UVA (My Mistake. I said UVB before. Its UVA.) and does not need an adapter to Mogul for your reflector.

You can find all the CMH bulb data on Philips ecat website. http://www.ecat.lighting.philips.com/l/lamps/high-intensity-discharge-lamps/ceramic-metal-halide/21051/cat/

So they can all be found here. If this link works
http://www.ecat.lighting.philips.com/l/lamps/high-intensity-discharge-lamps/ceramic-metal-halide/21051/cat/#filterState=FG_LP_WATTAGE|range%3D313%2C347
agro is here
http://www.ecat.lighting.philips.com/l/lamps/high-intensity-discharge-lamps/hid-horticulture/mastercolor-cdm-t-elite-med-wattage-agro/63541/cat/
and so on

FYI all the CMH T12 bulbs are protected. Only the T9 are unprotected, which means they don't have the quartz outer shell to contain the inner glass if the inner fails. The T number refers to the bulbs diameter in 1/8ths of an inch i think. Just like Florescent tubes.

I guess I'll have to call them. I don't see any of those options on their website.
Toms a great guy. Will talk your ear off if you let him. Knows a hella alot.

Those options are not available. AFAIK the will just send the mogul bulb if you order his combo kit. If you call him all things are possible.

Weird, they've been on there for a while, some guys here have been buying them. This link goes directly to that page. The default link is the 315w/4200k. But under the first pic with the ballast he mentions availability of the 3100k. I use the Sun System that comes with the 3100k by default. So far nothing to complain about these bulbs, for 315w they can pull a lot of weight.

Ya, like I said, he says on that link "We sell all the lamps but In horticulture after real testing we like the 210 and 315 in 4K Mogul Format."

He prefers the mogul bulb.

Do you know if there is a spectrum shift from vertical to horizontal with the 4200k as the elite agro bulb does?
