Broken main stem

Hey guys...

So, there was a disaster in the grow room today. Something very heavy came crashing down on my smallest plant and the main stem was smashed, and was left limp and cut open looking like a vagina...

I tied it to where it would stand up, and made a "plant cast" out of strings to hold the stem to it's normal circular shape hoping it can heal back that way...

How well do you think this will work for me? The rest of the plant is in good health.

Looks good to me. Nice work! You could stake it for support if you wanted. I don't think you have to spray it with a pruning sealer. String looks like it's enough. Should heal no prob.

Hey! I had a similar incident this growing season outdoors. Unfortunately she wilted away and died but that could have been because it was unintended for a day before I caught it. I would use some tape and apply it around your stem to allow it to stay moist and not get woody.

This happened to me also, 6 ft bent right in half under lst... these plants are pretty resilient if u catch things in time
Stalk was as big round as my index finger. I used cut lengths of bamboo skewers tied together with aviation wire.

Looks like a decent repair job, but time will tell...won't it. I carry a small roll of "paper tape" with me whenever I go to check on the outdoor girls on some of our farms. Paper tape will breakdown as the plant grows. It happens to me consistently, as they are dealing with ALL elements, tree limbs, and critters. On one of my farms, I have a few girls located very near a river and I found out that the beaver's love it, as shown on the pictures taken by a setup camera. Too funny! In any case, if I find a break, I just rap a few layers around the break in a downward fashion (helps rain water drain downward) until it is firm. Good luck. Peace

He'll I snap mine over all the time if they get too tall.. they heal quickly and really shoot the juice to the growth above afterwards.
