Seed Storage?

i think maybe my seeds went bad without proper storage. i planted them sunday its now friday and only one popped and it was a bag seed. the rest were purchased seeds. they were in ziplocced baggies and in a small foam packaging in a dark spot in my closet stored away. they were there for roughly 80 days. is this why they are not germinating?

i planted 4 Jack Herer seeds that were purchased roughly 25 days ago and stored the same way. the remaining 5 JH seeds have since been stored in a refrigerated area to see if that changes the results.

can anyone shed some light on this topic? i would much appreciate it. but in my experience that is the most logical reasoning because the seeds before that are the same strain i planted this time and they germinated fine of course i planted them as soon as i recieved them

sorry im trying think.......maybe they were too warm idk .dark place is right idk
maybe the purcased seeds where allready abit old idk

I got beans in a cigar tin from as long as 26 years ago that I kept at room temp in my toolbox that still sprout.
Just don't let them get moist, dry, moist, dry.

Did u plant straight into soil no paper towel sprout ect ? Lotta things can go wrong when u plant directly into soil 2 shallow and the heat will kill 2 deep and they will rot next time toilet paper or paper towel wet it up good squeeze out excess water place seeds into paper fold it over put in a sandwich zip bag then put in a dark warm area only true way to tell if they wanna sprout .after they pop open don't let the tap root get 2 long keep it 1 cm long max and put it into a jiffy pellet and then the jiffy straight into your pot I get a 100% seedling grow rate doing this I also put pot straight under my mh bulb dimmed to 200w never had a seedling die doing this cause they grow from day 1 into the environment they gonna be in there whole life so no transplant shock or shock from a seedling dome ect
