Another Reason for legal to grow and possess, illegal to sell

This is what happens when you get goverment involved. And it is only the tip of the iceberg.

The medical marijuana industry is on a growth track. Arizona’s first dispensary opened about two years ago in Glendale. It reaped a windfall as all patients within a 25-mile radius had their personal plant-growing rights revoked, which essentially forced them to go to the dispensary if they wanted to continue using the drug. As other shops have opened, the industry has experienced a boom, hiring everyone from growers to retail workers.

The people in charge have to direct the money flow up to them. No way WE the people are going to make/save money without uncle sam getting his fair share. And if that means manipulation of the laws well....politicians need yachts too.

Why just Arizona?

Things are less restrictive in Colorado.

I still think its a horrible idea to make selling illegal. Prohibition will remain. Not everyone can grow and not everyone that grows will be nice enough to give it away for free.

And why would you want to put your friend out of a "job"?

Dude, youre not going to win.

You can legally grow tobacco, fruit, veg, etc but I still see people buying them in the store.

Some people don't want to grow, and your version of "legalisation" would be just more status quo for those people.

Who can legally grow within a 25 mile radius of a dispensary in Arizona?

Wouldn't full legalization be great if you couldn't grow your own? And had to buy only from government approved sources?

It will only get worse

Your "solution" to solve government interference and cronyism is more government interference via restrictive regulation.

Which of course makes no sense.

Weed is a plant. People should decide if they will use it, grow it or not and if they will trade it with others that want to engage.

The interested parties will set the terms, government should butt the fuck out.

Again, look to colorado. I know you won't because it doesn't make your point.

If that was law in CO, nobody would be able to grow in Denver.

Illegal to sell just continues the status quo.

No arguement you can make will change my mind on this particular subject.

You are ok with people going to jail for selling weed which is exactly what will happen if weed remains illegal to sell. I'm not.

I can't grow. Many people I know can't grow for one reason or another. In my case, it's due to having 2 kids 10 and under.

People without green thumbs don't really grow either though some do try.

Lazy people, rich people(opportunity costs), assholes, dickheads, nice people, philanthropists, people of all walks of life just don't grow for whatever reason and would prefer, like so many in Colorado, to go buy it in a store and be able to, if they like, grow some of their own.

You continually demonstrate the folly of including ANY government interference.

Legalization can take on two modes. With restrictions and without restrictions. The kind with restrictions is simply another version of and a continuation of prohibition.

The way around this issue is to grow for someone who DOES live 25+ miles away from a dispensary.

They keep leaving loopholes in their laws.

Wish they would just get sensible.

LOL, until someone tries to sell it, and then who's gonna enforce that, the Girl Scouts of America?

How about we limit government involvement to simply keeping it out of the underage users hands, and allow everyone else to buy and sell and will? Why does me growing and selling to my neighbors, friends or community require government involvement? You want to grow it and give it away, by all means. But a person shouldn't expect others labor for free just because it suits them for whatever reason.

This whole fiasco started with government involvement when prior to, it was a non-issue. I don't see how the same people who continue to fuck it up are gonna be of any use other than trying to get into everyone's pockets.

And you don't think weed won't have more regulations than tobacco and alcohol combined?
Add in big weed trying to protect their markets with licensing and laws designed to keep you from growing your own
