Nice setup....exactly what I've been considering. Have a bud industries case on the way for a similar build. The divide between commercial finish and DIY projects are rapidly going to close.

Badass....
Thanks, yeah I wanted to have a custom chassis fabricated, but the price difference vs a basic chassis was kind of staggering. Maybe one of these days I'll find someone at a hackerspace to help me, but this works great for now.

Exactly...
Bud industries has some very affordable housings but the sizes are limited. Once you start getting custom ones built the price skyrockets

Maybe china can start making custom boxes for us...they can keep the rest of the stuff

Picked up a 17" x 10" case for $50 shipped for free...amazon...beautiful!

Hah, it would be great if we could find a tailored fabricating chinese site that didn't rape you with charges. Hackerspaces are a nice in-between since some have a plethora of tools (plasma cutters, 3d printers, etc). Damn, I couldn't find anything on amazon for that price. I found a 17.44in x 11.81in x 3.26in on ebay for $39, extremely basic.

There's none left...

It said more stock on the way though..

This model comes in 2"...3"...4"...5" depths I think..

Prices vary depending on seller. Haven't put it together yet so not sure how good it'll work

Thanks, I'm pretty excited about the SSDD myself after seeing all the previous grows around here.

Got any pics of the internal workings of the light? I'd be interested to see how it is all put together. I ask because i am planning something similar but can't decide on the final design. Where are the drivers mounted?

Thanks! I took most of my enclosure inspiration from your server rack build, so thank you. As well as the links, Hammond was the only one I had not been to yet.

Unfortunately I did not take pictures of the guts, but I can photoshop it together for you. The drivers are all mounted inside using 3M extreme velcro adhesive strips.

Looks nice, mine was similar and I moved the drivers outside the grow room because they do put out some heat. My areas are so small and summer was quite warm, just couldn't get em cool enough with out full time air conditioning. A few other people ended up doing that also.
I thought about this as well, but my temperature test wasn't significant enough for me to tear it back down and have the drivers outside the tent. The temps only raised about 5°F, and are hovering right around 81.5°F about 5" under the light, to 77°F near the walls of the tent mid-height. My ambient closet temp is about 74.7°F, so not so bad. Come summer time, I might have to rethink it though.

Day 15

I've really underestimated the stretch on the Hurkle, she's still goin' and I've cracked the base in 2 places trying to tame her down. Couple fan leaves have a smidge of light bleaching, but I'm hoping she's nearing finishing stretching or I'll have to super crop her or try to tie down the tops all toward the middle.

SSDD is steadily adapting to the cage and filling out a bit more, a bit short but doing great.

I'm really curious about how this turns out,I'm running 3 Z4's at 1.4a over each plant, two plants in a cab. I got 1.4 grams per watt, drivers and cooler fans included on my first run with a short veg in a 5 gal pot, that was over 9 zips per plant. I have a hard time believing that a plant could benefit much from the added COB unless you vegged much longer and had a much larger plant going into flower. I had to support every branch on mine and it was hard to visualize the plant carrying much more weight for it's size. Good luck and you will be amazed how your plants react to these COB's.

1.4 grams per watt with 9 zips per 5 gallon pot, that is insane haha. I'm always happy if i just hit the 1 to 1 ratio on zip per gallon, but almost double is kind of crazy. I'm glad I have the extra time available lately to keep these ladies in line since I've gone from 3 gallon pots to 5 gallon pots and throwing this new light on top of it all. By the sounds of your achievement, I'm going to need the time to keep them in shape. I was going to use 3 COB's myself, but I wasn't sure if I wanted to use my RW-75's as well with them. I decided it might be too much of a headache to try to fit all 3 of them in my tent, and go for 4 COB's for a good spread.

Day 22

The stretch has finally come to a halt. Hurkle is basically taking a continuous beating, getting bleached and fried. I bent her over, but not sure it's going to help at this point. Hopefully half of her will turn out alright. SSDD on the other hand, is more or less stealing the show, showing crazy amounts of frosty goodness and stacking up nicely. Bonus, she smells like a creamsicle.

Day 29

One of Hurkle's tops is pretty much completely bleached and now turning red. I've tried moving it out of the way some more to prevent more damage but, she keeps on putting on the weight. She's getting an interesting grape-cranberry smell to her. SSD, continues to shine, minus the smallest top, for some reason just stopped growing with the rest of the tops, is also fading faster than the others. They've all gotten a healthy dose of Liquid Karma in response.
