1st florida grow questions w/ pictures

I'm in the process of setting up a grow tent(more like closet) I plan to use a passive air intake but I'm having trouble deciding what type of.exhaust fan I need for the tent. It is approx. 50 cubic feet. Can I use an inline duct fan.as an exhaust fan? I already made my carbon filter and it has a diameter of 4 1/2 in so I'm looking for a 4 in fan.

I will only be using cfls and leds so I'm not worried cooling the lights, just exchanging the air in the tent

id use a 6" duct fan and a adapter

a 4" isnt gonna move much after you have the drag of the filter

Can the filter be after the fan on the outside of the tent?

And you're right ill just get a bigger fan and make an adapter.

aslong as the holes arent big enough for the carbon to blow through then it can go either way

Also I dont want too strong of a fan, because I've read that exhanging the air too often will stress the plants. How often should all of the air in the tent be exchanged? Every 5 minutes? Everyone seems to have a different opinion

6" duct fan is pretty common about 20 bucks on fleabay

you wanna swap the air out every 5 mins basically , i think mine is twice every 5 mins

Ok thanks the only problem is with 50 cubic feet, anything more than 50 cfm means that the air is being exchanged more than once a minute, which seems a little extreme. How.much would an adaptor and carbon filter on the outside affect the cfm rating of a fan?

after filter drag the fan isnt moving that much maybe half if your lucky

i was running a 80cfm on a 3x4x5 box and it was fine

Yea air exchange is important. Make sure to have a fanon the plants aswell t help strengthen roots and stalks.
