Any Canadian Growers?

Finally finished my outdoor in the garage, hung them up last night. 3 plants at the back are the outdoor, the smaller one at the front is a Jack The Ripper I just pulled from my breeding tent, the colour coded branches were pollinated by JTR (some backup freebie JTR seeds), Ace Of Spades, and Blueberry, should be some good phenos in there, expecting 100+ decent seeds off it :) Crap outdoor season here but hey it's pretty well free weed, no complaints...

Well im out of luck. Looks like the deer got to my stuff. Boo
Must not have been much judging by your reaction. Deer usually only eat a plant or two and move on. Glad they did not find mine there were track close by

When I checked on them last they were super small. It would be a small meal for one. Didn't take any pics, as I as walking up I seen the tracks, and one that was half eaten. I should have guessed when I first planted. When we scouted the spot , we seen a group of deer about 1km from out spot.

I did however go scouting today for a new spot. The plants tis year, when i cheked mid-season, were small. Also the spot was difficult to secretly get in and out of, with no close by water source.

I think I may have found a perfect spot by a slough. Tons of thorn bushes, ground is moist. Anyone ever panted by a slough? Was thinking start in 5gal buckets, with perlite in the bottom 2-3inches (would help to develop water feeding roots). Then when planting, remove the botom half of the bucket, leaving the top half above ground. im hopping his area would stay drier, and you could water with nutes. (Water source less then 25 meters away)

What do you think?

Hi everyone, sorry I haven't been around for a month or so, I had a crazy busy month! I have harvested everything and it's all curing in jars, and it is a huge relief! I only lost about 3oz to bud rot so I'm thankful for that. This year was my most successful grow to date. Sorry to hear about those of you with bad luck. Let's hope that this thread can help all us Canadian growers achieve better harvest in the future. Best of luck to the rest of you who still have some going!
Now for some harvest pics... I had a friend come over sept 27 and chop all the big tops after 4days of heavy rain. Unfortunately she didn't take any pics before the chop, just pics of the tops hanging in my shed. I chopped the rest when I was home oct 2nd and trimmed them all up. I was in a rush and I didn't take many pics either I'm kicking myself for not taking a pic of all the tops together.

Any pics of bud rot. I've seen online pics but need to see from REAL people. So I know what to look for. I don't think I see any but she's a big plant with long dense colas. Do I have to pick through them to inspect.
My experience with bud rot is it starts on the inside. Start your checks at the stem in the centre of your fattest buds for light grey fuzz. It can appear overnight. I wish I was reading this when I was home trimming I could have posted pics of exactly what to look for, sorry dude.

I am going to try the Hempy bucket method. I currently use soil and have one in a DWC as well. Was just trying the DWC out. However because the 5g buckets are quite heavy and are an issue with my neck (herniated disks) when doing changes, I think Hempy is a better way for me. Cannot to the lifting of mutliple buckets with the water. Thinking Perilite/vermiculite mix. Will do one plant this way and go from there. Any thoughts!

I would just do straight perlite. I've heard that 1/3verm and 2/3perlite works, but some people experienced root rot. Even with perlite, I found that if I didn't want to I could leave the plants for 2-3days with out watering. But I was over zealous and slightly lazy, i used a fountain pump and watered using with a timer 3-4 times a day for 15min. Even watering as much as I did I had no issues. See my signature for more info.

Hey Dr. I've never run hempy but was considering it for when I travel. Have you used a top feed/drip system with hempy? Something like the Claber system? Would be great for more or less hands off once they root and really handy when I'm travelling a lot. I'll hook up the Claber from time to time in my 50/50 soil/pro-mix grows and it keeps them going. I mostly control when I go and for how long but the odd time I'm away for more than 3 days and need to provide at least some water to them.

That's exactly what I do, accept I took a 1/4inch irrigation line and drilled holes every 2-4cm...also mine sits on a table (similar to a flood and drain) and drains back to a res. You could simply hook a drain tube from the pot to the res. check out my signature. It shows the exact method I used. I don't drain to waste.

Well. I had a couple of my smaller gorilla patches ripped sometime this week. I'm certain it was someone I know, just now sure who. Can't see anyone finding the bigger patches so I'm going to risk leaving it out as long as possible. It's the first time in 5 years I've lost anything to rippers and all my grows are gorilla so I'm not too upset.

Rippers and Deer suck.... especially this close to harvest. I haven't had those problems, but mold has been/is a big issue. I've harvested a lot of early bud this year due to it. Although, instead of removing the one spot of mold, I've been harvesting the whole area. Just to avoid further spreading. I don't know if its helping because every time I look I find more. I have sprayed the plant with milk, baking soda solution and even tried H2O2 a few times. Am I the only one? I'm reaching out to those in the Atlantic region mostly, but I want to hear your mold issues this year. It's been tough on me.

Thanks, sounds like something I'll try out (hempy, auto-feed), I've looked at DIY but needed something quick one time and grabbed one of those Claber systems for about $80 on e-bay. They work well just not flexible on schedules, the timer runs for about 10 minutes every 12 hours, you can control how much they get by the number of lines you run per plants, each line drips about 2oz per run, you can set/change when it starts so I'd just set it to match lights on/off cycles.

Yeah Mold has been getting so many people all over Canada and USA, from what I read.

Green crack is chopped. it came in a just over 12 feet tall from bottom to tip.
It could have used another week or two but it was pretty frosty and real sticky. Yielded only about 4oz, i thought from the size it would have yielded more.
Sugar black rose, after drying and trimming, weighs in at just over 3oz (but 2/3 of the plant rotted/broke/died from wind damage and rain).
L.A. Widow yielded 6 oz dry.
I also have TONS of frosty trimmings and popcorn buds from all 3 plants.
Next year definitely doing some different quicker finishing strains.
For my first outdoor grow it turned out ok i think, the weed is pretty decent and smells good. Considering the plants were not watered or cared for much, and only got fertilizer he last month.

All you really need is one watering a day or if you wanted every two (probably more water) I still run the water until i get run off. Like i think i said 15min.

I only wattered every week or 10 days, and things were great. I use big containers and/or plant in ground with big holes, this makes Guerrilla growing more convienient for myself.
