Already in my country Muslims who are barely off the boat are already complaining about our culture and society yet many of the women do not work because their husbands do not allow it so they are going to be forever on welfare and a burden on the taxpayer, the Islamic community representatives use clever rhetoric to denounce our culture on a regular basis and refuse to integrate, they want their own exclusive taxpayer funded schools and they want to introduce blasphemy laws, one civic leader in particular whose group receive state funds refused on live TV to condemn Bin Laden saying because he hadn't met him he had no right to judge him and patronisingly states that we don't understand what is going on. They also have said that if they ever achieve a majority (politically I assume) that Sharia law would be imposed.
Multiculturalism is no bad thing but all of society has to be involved and sadly this is not something the many in the Islamic community wants. We have had a small Jewish community here for a very long time and you wouldn't even know they were here even when the most vocal and the most critical of Israel were being heard, the same can be said of a number of Christian groups with the exception of the Catholics.
So while IS and whatever extremists are trying to conquer through violence I believe there are many Muslims who want the same result but use different means to achieve it.
Muslims whether you agree with me or not have a ludicrous sense of entitlement irrespective of the country or culture they live in.

I see where you're coming from mate & it pisses me off also how alot of Muslims are silent about many issues that need discussed. Islam doesn't encourage marrying children or treating woman badly or female genital mutilation...people confuse Islamic practices with old local customs. Do you know how serious a problem domestic violence is in western Europe? how come people don't attribute those to Christianity or Atheism?

My point is that its not the religion itself thats the problem but people's interpretaion of it or lack of understanding. Those Muslims moaning about the culture of your country are not doing so because their muslim but because their ungrateful bastards. Cat Stevens now Yusuf Islam made a poignant statement a few years back when he said “Thank God I learned about Islam before I met Muslims”...I know exactly what he means. Religion can be dangerous no doubt about it, not because they preach world domination or the subjugation of women but because people twist them for their own selfish ends & alas there are too many morons out there who never question anything or read anything themselves. Thats why whether its Islam, Christianity or Budhism, religion should be kept out of politics.

I am aware of Muslim protests in Germany and France against the extremists and that is a positive and I am aware that there are more moderate interpretations of the Qur'an that are more mellow if you will but many Muslim academics and scholars the world over reject these and continue to go by the old oral versions so while you say the religion is intrinsically good and respectful to females and children it really is a moot point considering that the learned of the religion continue to impress the old tenets into the hearts and minds of Muslims.
Domestic violence is a human problem and prevalent in every society and indeed there are many studies taken in western countries that to some degree will try and blame alcohol abuse etc which is a total cop out IMO and just a way of avoiding the issue but Muslim Clerics and civic leaders in western countries continue to dance around the subject, you will not hear any other religious leaders saying on live TV that it's ok even if they think differently, many Muslims refuse to condemn misogynistic behaviour so the only logical conclusion one can come to is that they condone it and actively encourage total male dominance within the home.
These same Imams and civic leaders who live here, not Tehran or Kabul etc refuse to roundly condemn Jihad, have refused to condemn Bin Laden and his ilk and demand privileges without being willing to contribute fully and positively to the society they live in by continually making inflammatory comments every time they get five minutes of TV time, everything they look for or everything they criticise they do so for the sake of their religion/culture.
The Catholic church has done so much damage here and worldwide with clerical sex abuse and for the most part my generation here has turned it's back on the Catholic church so I do agree with you that religion has no place in politics nor in the school system yet the head cleric in Ireland wants to see Sharia law imposed here and to see teenage girls go to school wrapped up like a birthday present, these are supposed to be learned and educated and act as role models and while they preach peace and tolerance from one side of their mouths they speak of Islamic cultural domination from the other.
While I do believe that your thoughts here are genuine I also believe for every one level headed moderate Muslim like you there is a thousand who are not and therein lies the problem so as long as there is no widely accepted consensus about the treatment of others among Muslims worldwide nothing will change.
