So what's your favorite/least favorite accent?

My favorite is by far the american south, not just the south, but the deep country south. You'll find the nicest people in the world and you can hear it in the dialect. The one I dislike the most is northern or new england accent. There is such rude tone and lack of manors in some of them. Nope, there isn't anything as nice as the soft, slow drawl of a pretty little, big eyed southern girl. Btw, the southern ghetto slang IS the very worst of all accents.

I'm reminded of Lennie in Of Mice and Men when I hear that accent

Everything's relative I guess, I grew up in new england and there's a strong stigma that suggests people down south with that incredibly nice accent are extremely two-faced. "southern comfort" as it's known. I've seen a bit of it myself, as I have lived in TX, and I did meet some conservative monsters who were remarkably good at public face...

Not saying it's necessarily a fair or accurate stereotype.. probably about as accurate as the idea that people from new england are somehow bad because their speech is unrefined...

I've always liked the Mandarin speaking Cantonese
even better from the south, but the biggest laugh
is the Vietnamese speaking Cantonese
...is so funny
Norwegians speaking Icelandic is a joke
and always ends in a fight
the worst by far is Hawaiians
speaking Maori ..
really that is so sad ..
is like poetry
