When was the last time you looked at child support figures? It's PATHETIC! You all clamor about being "on the hook" for it... but the reality is.... single women raise kids alone WITHOUT child support in this country WAY more then they do WITH child support!

The argument of child support is a JOKE at best!

In a forum of mostly men I'm not surprised to see the opinion that woman should be FORCED by a government ... also predominately of men to do what they say!

It's a shame they ever let us vote in the first place right?

I was not complaining about child support. Just saying fair is fair.

Most dads do their part and them some. Child support is subjective from father to father.

I understand where your coming from, and i dont want you to think i dont have compassion for woman. but do you see the double standard there?

I think if i woman is gonna get an abortion, the man should need to sign off on it, and if he doesnt, she can still get the abortion but is no longer liable for child support. in that case is its still the womans choice but hes not part of something he didnt have a say in

Actually I'm not opposed to that..... except that (to the best of my knowledge) paternity can't be determined in utero.... which means a man not really the father could sign off saying "no thanks" and then the paternity after birth be determined to be someone else who didn't get that choice.

On that note.... I am TOTALLY against FORCED support for men who later in the child's life learn they aren't the biological father. The courts seem to say if a man steps up and raises a child he believes is his biologically (let's say for a few years) and then finds out it is not biologically his he has no right to severe child support. I DISAGREE WITH THIS COMPLETELY!

Other then situations of Adoption.... I believe a man should only be obligated to pay equal child support if he is the biological father.

Well... since rape and incest are crimes punishable by incarceration (sad it's not death) I seriously doubt the woman would be looking to garnish that whole 40 cents an hour they make in prison!

Equal is what is fair....the woman should have to pay half as well! I do NOT FOR ONE MINUTE think a woman should be able to sit on her ass at home and be fully supported by a man paying child support. LOL... don't get me wrong... raising a child is not sitting on your ass.... but he should only be responsible for half of the child's expenses if he is taking on half of the parenting. If he can't take on half of the parenting then how can the woman go out and make half of the money? A woman can't be responsible for 50% of the support costs if she isn't able to work because she is home with the child 100% of the time. It's really simple math
