Want to see if anyone can tell me 100% if they are libs or something much more harmful, as I have no experience finding these little guys.

I'm growing mine indoors, I got outside by walking through the door. :-D The pics I posted were of what I was hoping to be wild liberty caps, as I have wanted to sample them for awhile now.

I have Penis envy, Ecuador, Mazatapac, and Rust Spore strains colonizing on corn. 3 of the 4 are ready to Case but will have to wait a week or two as I am going out of town this week. I should start a new journal.

No, and I would not go looking for them UNLESS ya no somebody who know's somebody ....this conversation sound's familiar but check this Lib's fall into the LBM category(Little Brown Mushroom) and has several very deadly look alikes in the Conocybe family that contain the same mycotoxin's as the deathcap....They are not worth it imo.... there are other easier to ID mushie's that will accomplish just as much

That is why I am checking beforehand. I know better than to pick random mushrooms and eat em without knowing 100% what they are. I'll just stick to growing my own. Lol

Liberty Caps have like a nipple on the top of them. If you want to find them in the wild, go to Scotland. We get planets of them growing in cow fields over here. Tis the season as well. And you don't need to be an expert, imo. You just need to get out of bed early to beat all the school kids to the fields. You know you've found a field when there is someone walking around in a crouched manner with a carrier bag in their hand...

I am sure there are plenty lookalikes "rockin hard nips", but the Liberty Caps we got were quite distinctive from the other mushrooms that grew, and to our advantage there were no others "rocking the hard nips" that I ever saw. Making selection very easy.

They tend to be a bit lighter in shade, more white than brown I would say. Reasonably long stems on them. The cups of the mushrooms are not that open, more closed in, and as I said, with them nips on em as well. The lower part of the stem tends to have a bit of purple in there too from what I remember (it's been a good 25 years since I was in a field with them). Good luck with the hunt.
