no....if you haven't gone at least 8 weeks past onset... meaning 2 1/2 months (10 weeks) of flowering (12/12) some strains take 3-4 months

Lol, no. However the weather has now turned against you, despite todays sunshine. I'd be focusing more on when to harvest based on weather than when to harvest based on maturity. Given the past weeks rain and shit, i assume you must have them covered in a greenhouse or such? Noone wants mouldy rotten buds.

That's what I'm thinking I'm away for a couple of weeks from tomorrow so won't be there to check them, if I did harvest now would it be smokeable

If you're going to be away for two weeks and have noone to trust to tend them, then i'd probably harvest (unless in a greenhouse, as previously stated). It certainly won't be as good as if you harvest when they're ready (think green banana) however it'll still get you high, just not in the same way, or for the same duration, should it get harvested when it should.

The way i see it, better a jar of prematurely cut weed, than a jar of mould. While not ready, i say harvest them. This is the UK, who knows what the weather is going to bring tomorrow, let alone over the next fortnight.

Do it. Just don't look at it as a mistake or a dissapointment etc, just look at it from a learning perspective. Now you'll know what can be expected from bud chopped early (and on the flip side, it'll also show you that if there is a need, chopping early is not the end of the world, and the flip side to that is that it could then cause you to start chopping and drying buds early through impatience :D)

All in all, i never say there is a right time to harvest, harvest at any time, learn what is what. Too many growers harp on about trichome colour and such, while never actually having experienced what it actually means to harvest outside of that perfect window they read about.
