Buying new seeds - What should I buy?

Hey folks, I'm doing an all organic water only grow in a couple of months. So while my soil is cooking (I can post it if anyone is curious) I figured I'd do some research and ask around on suggestions. I'm a huge fan of Rare Dankness genetics, I have a crop of Scotts OG and 501st OG about 10 days until choppy choppy time! ✂ And I absolutely love them. I'm considering getting either the tangerine kush or the ox next.

I'd like to skirt away from any 10+ weeks of flowering strains but will consider a longer flowering one if it's worth it in the end. This is all personal use so having a huge yield is not as important as flavor, smell, and the high. I also don't have a massive amount of room so any ladies will be topped/fimmed and lst'd. Any strains that respond well to being trained and slightly abused would be great.

So let's talk strains!

I know kush is kind of old news these days, but the fact that u love it and have mentioned it means u still adore it like me too. I have never tried the strain but it will def. be the next one i get... its called "K-Train" its "Trainwreck" and "OG kush". Greenhouse seeds sells them. I like kush and strains alike (hardcore dank indica, high quality smoke) for a number of growing reasons. Pest resistant, 8 week flower time, decent yield, amazing quality, roots easy, easy to grow, takes stress well. Great for topping and LST'ing because they dont get too bushy so it allows you to stretch out your main couple tops then tie them all down and let the middle of the plant grow without getting too bushy and unmanageable. So if you wouldnt mind trying out K-Train for me that would be wicked haha!!! There is a million different strains and breeders these days but deep down you and I both know that you actually already know what you want to try next so go buy em haha... i still say try out K-Train for me though, Cheers bud!

Purple trainwreck by HSO smells like grape Kool Aid ! . Power KUSH by dinafem or dinachem is awesome . Or just stop messing around get some Dr Greenthumb Bubba OG or bubba KUSH . And if you decide to get the "truth " contact DR Gruber on this forum for advice . Let the decisions begin. !

Decisions decisions! I definitely don't consider kush genetics to be old news in my world. I did some digging on the k train and it may actually be one of the strains I buy! Shorter flowering time with the medicinal effects I want. I also really like that the parents on it are well known and very sought after.

I've always been particularly interested in the Chemdawg strain as I've been able to have access to the legitimate strain a handful of times. It NEVER failed to put me to sleep and as an insomniac that is very rare. I think I may definitely be running this.

Anything with bubba in the name in my experience is going to be a good medicine. The question is though, kush or og? Which do you prefer @THCbreeder

Bit of an odd question, but has anyone ever grown any landraces that they've been satisfied with? When it comes to genetics I love the idea of growing the original genetics or the crosses directly from landraces. Idk something about it just gets me excited haha

Hey buddy ive never tried them but I keep reading rave reviews about Cinderella 99 as well as Durban Poison which I think is a landrace from South Africa. Good luck hunting!

AHHHH how could I forget Durban Poison! ?!? Thank you @Zaycor for reminding me!
I'll read up on the other strains and see what they can offer. *Edit* Apparently the Cinderella 99 flowers around 50-55 days as a sativa hybrid. It has a Thai parent and supposedly smells HEAVILY of citrus-y flavors. I will seriously consider this as I've been looking for a shorter flowering sativa dominant with some Thai genetics. I'm really glad you brought this to my attention.

You're correct about DP being a landrace, and I'm fairly certain you're correct about its origins too. Nice suggestions!

I did some more digging and apparently the Durban Poison that the Euro seed banks have is a cross (Can't find the other parent(s)) of Durban, the true landrace strain. It's also very similar to the Cinderella 99, except that DP has thcv and the C99 doesn't. Interesting. Maybe I'll run both and see which one I like most.

Did you check Dutch Passion's DP, it might be the real deal as they claim its imported from South Africa...im actually currently growing their auto DP, hope it turns out alright.

If my source is correct, Durban Poison isn't the landrace, Durban is. The Poison in the name comes from it being crossed, but with what I don't know. Either way, I'll still probably grow it. It's one of my longtime favorites. I still remember the day that I picked an oz of it from a random acquaintance, no other strains or even other DP cuts have ever been able to compare to its smell and flavor. It must have either been a good pheno or someone really knew their shit. It smelled like lemon pinesole and tasted like a piney citrus candy. Hands down its one of my top 3 favorite smoking experiences.

Good to know cheers, DP certainly sounds impressive & maybe due to its small thcv content. Anyway had a quick look & Sensi seeds have Durban, sounds like the landrace. Have fun amigo

I'll go check them out now. I'd much rather grow a landrace. Though if the price is right, maybe I'll grow both and see which is better!
Thanks for doing some footwork for me!

If you can find the strains Afghani Dream or Couchlock(Afghani Dream×NL#5) you will be satisfied.

The pinesole smell/taste you get ive had on multiple different strains. I honestly believe it is something the grower does to his plants at the end. Ive herd of people even spraying them a tad with that or windex then throw them in the freezer... watch what u smoke guys. I bet you remember your eyes hurting in the back of your head if you smoked too much at once too dont u? haha. Awesome thread, hope u pick out some weiners! Cheers bud!

Normally I would agree with you! But this had one of the cleanest and smoothest flavors I've had. I truly think it was just well grown. It definitely didn't cause any pressure or anything.

So far my shopping cart has 10 Durban seeds in it that I'm pretty set on. I think I'm also set on getting another Rare Dankness genetics, but which one??? I love the Scotts and especially the 501st and still have some beans left. But I have no clue what other Rd strain I want next. Suggestions?

I want another strain too and i think to make the Mrs. happy I'm going to find something that has some strong GreenCrack genetics. It's her favorite but clone only from what I can tell. So if someone wants to save me the Google footwork and tell me what it's parents are that'd be awesome (=

I have found a Durban poison that was crossed with a white widow and northern lights not landrace because its crossed but that seems pretty potent, i was think about crossing a durban with a white widow just for experimental reasons, I could get the landrace or other crossed durban poison and cross it with some WW, outdoor grow :peace:
