32 hours of darkness pre flower

I understand your logic, but I don't think it matters, IMO. As the days get shorter, the plant changes gears. I would think the plant would figure it out sooner if the 12/12 pattern happened right off the bat (no long dark period). The plant needs both darkness and light, repeating, to figure out the days are actually shorter than before.

Test it out! (My 4th grader has a Science Project that we are brainstorming ideas right now. Could you imagine? "And the winner of the Science Fair goes to...")

it does induce it faster only by afew days, i switched my lights off at 1pm yesterday and they will turn on at the usual time of 7pm = 30 hours.

its just folklore tried it no diff(might be strain dependent who knows) but the few extra hours in dark to take it to your 12 hour cycle cant hurt

You should also put them in the dark for two days at the end as well, also tricks the plants into thinking they are dying and produce more thc or something

It is my understanding that THC is supposed to be a sunscreen of sorts so it just doesnt seem to hold true that any darkness would be beneficial but as said earlier try it, see if it works.

It's produces more resin like a sunscreen but also most types of stress will do the same near the end of flower Iam not sure if that mean more thc tho I will do some researchresearch

No, NO - just switch to 12/12 and then wait for 1-2 weeks for bud development - then start flower stage countdown. Darkness does not help a plant in pre-flower, you need that light !!!! so the plant can start to change and darkness will not do that specific thing

Found this apparently trichomes do contain the good shit lol but there this a copied it from cannabis culture and also proves how hurtin a plant near end of flower will produce more crystal

I've been reading lots about this dark period before harvesting, and decided to give it a try. I kept them in the dark for 36hrs, and pretty cold, aprox 66 degrees to simulate the winter coming. Tonight I went down arms with the proverbial green light to cut down, and after taking a couple of plants I realize that they were still a little wet..
What to do, what to do?? After giving it much thought I turned the lights back on.... My reasoning is that thy should just dry up a bit more... Another cycle of ligt dark should still be ok for them.. Pls anyone tell me I didn't do something really stupid... I think they should be fine.. Anyone please tell me I didn't do something really really stupid!!

From what I just read apparently a big dark before harvest increases the thc content because light kills degenerates thc and peak thc harvest is in the morning so longer dark will Infact increase thc cause it allows more thc to build up

What I do before harvest 1 week before I fully manicure the buds and then I decrease the humidity to the max I use hippos I forget what it's called lol they come in tubs and suck the moisture out the air I do this for 2 reasons manicure on a live plant stresses that makes it defend it's self producing more trichs aka resin and I decrease humidity to suck excess wetness from the buds this speeds up the curing process Massivly and also helps get rid of the chlorophyll which is the grassy smell when u dry


Worst that could happen u might make em hermie but that close to harvest u have nothing to worry about the last week u can abuse the fck out em and I highly recommend it

I definitely understand that part. What I'm kin of worried about now is that after leaving them in the dark for 36hrs I had to turn the lights on for another 12 hrs as they were still too wet.
From all the reading I've done I think I should be in the clear as long as I keep giving them at least 12hrs of dark every 24.... Does that make sense?
