thanks
thanks
Trains are way more expensive than planes in Western Canada....if you want to save a buck travel Greyhound bus/coach.....if you can afford it fly, preferably West Jet, as our national airline Air Canada is somewhat less than friendly.me and a friend were thinking of taking a train tour of canada. anyone out there done this? if so, any recommendations on where to go, what to see?

we prob. won't be going till this spring. i figure a couple grand each should be good, thanks. all aboard...i work on a tour train actually. haha, what province were you thinking?
my best tips would be
go in late September early october, for best foliage and hiking experience
bring your own snacks and food as the price onboard is extremely pricey
how much are you wanting to spend on a tour?
i don't mind a bus, but trains are more comfortable, plus they usually serve food, lol. i know the sleeper cars are pretty pricey. i just got back from calif. and the ticket, round-trip was around $300. if i got a sleeper, the price would have been $1800! pretty amazing diff.Trains are way more expensive than planes in Western Canada....if you want to save a buck travel Greyhound bus/coach.....if you can afford it fly, preferably West Jet, as our national airline Air Canada is somewhat less than friendly.
you likely wouldn't want to travel north in the winter....gets a touch cold up there^^^i've never been up north, so i have no idea where to start/finish. prob. west to east would be good for me.^^^
