Trimming sucks! Any tips?

I bet you have more experience with a pair like that. I would assume most people just starting with trimming would feel more familiar with these and trimming is just more natural. I doubt everyone will agree but that's my input.

Not that you are new to trimming either, I have no idea, I didn't read haha. But for those who are new, maybe see how regular scissors work.

need the scissors with springs and the slight curve on the blade. doesn't stress your hands as bad. pretty much look at an ounce or two an hr maybe alittle more, by yourself.

First Remove all of the fan leaves being very careful to not lose the Trich's that Will fall off.. Place all small Trichome covered leaves(Smaller) into sealable box for scrap's to make bubble Hash and shatter. Now depending on Humidity,Density and Weight it could take a few week's to dry and cure, the bigger the Cola (Bud) Then The longer the cure time.So many method's of doing this but this one is Mine...All Massive Colas 1OZ and above are placed in Brown/White paper Bag's to slow my dry for sometimes three weeks and all of the regular sized bud's are hung from a plastic clothes hanger and put in a dark Dry Place...Chlorophyll is what You will be fighting and it will disappear,I Limit My Nitrogen in the last two week's just so I don't have as much Chlorophyll to deal with. These bud's will dry faster because I remove the Stem's.I generally have a 4G bud into a curing containerand finished within one week and if the Bud is super dank the chlorophyll will be almost Non existent in a week.As Your product is Curing/Drying it will shrink and will need to be trimmed even closer,at this time remove the leaves and Pin's left from the Fan Leaves Etc... Remove the lid to the container every day for @ least 15 min's.If Your Bud dries too much then cut a corner off of a napkin and wet it.Overnight it will dissipate and You can Tweak the taste rather than just dry it and sell it.Every day it is in an dark airtight container it will taste better...Namaste

I was pretty happy when I learned about pins. You can clip some of the leaves off before harvest if you want to, or even after.
You can clip the leaf at the base of the leaf, but leave the leaf stalk on the nug. This leaf stalk, I guess pin, will dry up fairly quickly having no leaf.
When it dries you simple pull it out of the nug, don't need to go fiddling around trying to clip the base of that little leaf stem way in the nug.

I keep a bunch of scissors around me, like a pair sitting in ISO if mine gum up.. just swap em out. Let the other ones soak. Keep different sizes etc.. I think I keep like at least 6 scissors around the garden

I dont care too much for gloves, I just use hand sanitizer when I'm done or if needed.

I dont care too much for spring loaded scissors, I hold my so I can open and close them, I actually like the one with the hook on the end of the handle, so I can hold it with my ring finger outside. Those work pretty good I got mine out of my kit for cutting hair..

Other than that.. a cold beverage and some tunes makes for a enjoyable trim session. Or listen to a grow podcast, I'm kinda partial to the dude grow show..

I have 10 pair of fiskars for trimming. when they are not in my hand busy cutting of some nugs, they hang out in a cup of 91%. as soon as a pair starts to stick, I swap it with one that's been hanging out in alcohol cup.

I have a spin pro trimmer and absolutely LOVE it. cut my 22hr trim session to 10 hrs solo, or about 5-6 with a patient who helps me,
My buddy does the cups of alchohol when we're having big trim parties, doing up the outdoor. I still bring over my favorite scissors and scrape when needed. I am faster than anyone i've ever come across, and I actually make
a big ass ball of hash, when I'm done :-)

These scissors have been my best friend for about 15yrs. Fastest scissors on this side of the Mississippi:-Dimage.jpg

To the OP: I don't enjoy trimming, never have. It's just something that if you gotta do it, well, do it. And It really sucks when you have a bad back, like
i do.

One bit of advice to make trimming faster: keep those scissors moving! Lol, really though:bigjoint:

pull all the big leaves off with your hands when they are still standing
then trim all the other leaves off with regular scissors i find smaller scissors easier
harvesting normally takes me a few days i do 4-6 hours a day before i get tired of it
make your self some snacks/drinks and some joints
put trailer park boys on in the background on netflix
time goes pretty quickly if you are high enough

if your scissors are plastic don't chop for too long without a break or you will get scissor blisters lol

i sit down n trim for about 15 hours in a weekend and do about 2.5 pounds in that time. Yes, I sometimes start to talk to myself, yes sports radio keeps me sane an yes, it is always worth it in the end.

i use fiskars micro tips an rotate 2. one soaking in iso while using the other. swap out every 30-45minutes.

Use a razor blade to clean resin off scissors a couple times a plant. Each plant produces a nice hash nugget this way and you keep your scissors clean and going.

Trimmings awful, man. Last few years I've grown outdoor. and just can't keep up. I'm not a bum. I have a full time job. Don't have hours a day to sit and trim multiple lbs.

Bought one of those bowl trimmers. Saved a ton of time. Not the prettiest trim job, but it gets the job done in about 1/5 the time. For people saying it knocks off the trichomes, look at your scissors and gloves. At least with the machines youre not squeezing the buds. And it catches all the trim in the bowl. So if it does take anything off the buds, at least it contributes to the potency of your bi-product (hash, butter, oil, etc).

Time is money. And the machine trimmers saved me a shitload of time.
