you could also try the super blue ceramic metal halide bulb, tons more uv than HPS, less lumens though, probably work better as a supplemental light with a 600hps or a 1000 hps
whats the big deal w uvb? i have iguanas living in my room with uv bulbs everywere i practically live under those lights, no skin canser or anything and i know my lizards require their calcium from the lights ive never had any ill efects from the lights and i look at them and hold my iguanas under the lights constantly??? i also let my iguanas live in my grow room from time to time they eat the big fan leaves and stay off the plants, however they do swim and shit in my resevoir sometimes it adds nutes to the water.lol.. they also love the heat from the hps lights they bask in the light,, theyre my buddies, 1 female named buddy 1 male named red they are both near 6 feet long and are great pets however my dog is afraid of them and she is 120lb french mastiff
reptiles in general like the hps mh lights, to them its like sunlight,i think... what is the deal do uv bulbs really help in flowering? any proof behind it? i have tons of 10.o repti sun bulbs they are expensive so i buy bulk for my iguanas

not really, i thought alot of uv exposure can cause skin cansed but im no scientist...just a chemist lol
well, it isn't, check back when you are playin with your grandkids, and that's when melanomas get ya. doesn't happen over night, like most cancers...
so what ur telling me is being exposed to the uv rays holding my iguanas and being in that uv room will catch up with me in the long run? ive had the uv rays on me for 10 years now as my iguanas are ten years old i guess thats too fast to be a long run, but im already 40 and plan on being around a wile, but im not going to stop playing in the room with my buddies, and my son is 5 and he plays with the iguanas to...also if uv is so harmfull nobody would be getting the leds w uv i dont know about most growers but i sit in my grow room for hours talkin to my plants...100 years ago people worked in the suns uv rays from dawn to dusk nobody got skin cancer in my opinion i may be wrong but cancer cannot survive in an alkaline enviroment so if you eat right and keep your bodys ph alkaline you cant get any type of cancer however most people today have acidic body ph which is why so many people have or can get cancer..studies have proven cancer cannot live in alkaline ph so if you or somone you know has cancer if they can get their bodys ph to be alkaline they will be cancer free...no cure for cancer is bullshit for hospitals and dr.s to make money and the fda will not aprove any foods as a cure even though studies have shown for example people with acid reflux if they drank a shot glass of applecider vinegar every day for a month they would be cured believe it or not ive cured several friends and my wife with apple cider vinigar. you can buy ph strips at walgreens put it under your toung and get your bodys ph keep it alkaline and eat non acidic foods and youll be cancer free forever!! ever wonder why in switzerland very few have cancer?? because they have spas for cancer victims to get their bodys alkaline and therefor cure the cancer its far better than chemo and all the stuff we do here in the states because our FDA is a fraudulant company who controls the population with non cure and our dr.s are drug dealers making money on the comeback rather thasn cure the people...millions of dollars each year are going twords a cure for cancer which will never be found with drugs, thats because the cure is in the foods you eat...ever wonder why nobody gets scurvy anymore?? because it was cured by eating citric, oranges or other fruits..im sorry but our FDA simply pisses me off food and drug administration they say any food canot be listed as a cure for anything because only a drug can cure buulshit food is the cure and drugs are for profitt
