Setting up 4x8 tent

Hello,

I am setting up my 4x8 tent. I am growing 8 plants total. Each in 20 gal smart-pots
I will be running two 600 watt HPS lamps to flower.

I was wondering if two 400 watt MH lamps would be enough to veg in this situation???

Yes. Plants in veg use significantly less lighting levels. I would just bunch all the plants up around the lights.

ooooh.....so I need to put the plants NEAR the lights? I knew I was doing something wrong. Does the water need to go in the dirt too?
I kid. Just giving you a hard time.

So unless anyone has any objections, I guess I will use two 400w MH lights to veg a 4x8 room.

There is a great post in the indoor section. Sorry cant seem to c and p the link. But two 600w may cause some heat concerns you may want to review the wealth of info here at riu before u get to far ahead. JMHO

More than one way to skin a cat I suppose. Plus I have plant limits and the very minimal yield benefits of running a 32 plant SOG style grow aren't worth it to me....the legal risks and way more work during the course of the grow. And those 8 plants will fill the canopy just fine with a little bit of LST.
And a no-till style grow just works better in a larger pot (I am interested in full organic and low maintenance).

That is a beside the point tho. I was just making sure that I could veg a 4x8 tent with two 400w MH
But I would be glad to explain any aspects of my grow. I am very new and limited in my knowledge, but I could at least point you to my information sources =)
