HBBum Going Hydro - F*cking Incredible OG

Thanks, I think I will go out and pick up a silica additive since I have had a few people suggest it. Will bring my ppm up even further, and I don't know how much is too much. They seem to be taking the 1310 well enough though. Been bending the hell out of them and they are taking it in stride. Seems my water is a bit hard, coming out about 350-400 from the tap.

Blurry and under LED lights, but here is where they just a hint of nute burn on the tips on the left, I don't think its enough to cause issues, but I will hold the ppm steady for now.

Drop your ec towards 400ppm with those lil guys and will see a little faster growth. I usually start with 50/50 veg and bloom for the first weeks or two. The added phospherus will help with root development. Once your plants have 3-4 nodes up your ppm to normal. 600-700 is what i use for my fully mature girls.

next time you bubble your res make sure you have a few days at home to see what your nute line does. should stay pretty consistent so once you dial it in youll know exactly what to adjust to

My water is pretty hard, I just re-checked and it comes out 310 to 350 so 400 PPM would be tough. The girls are about 7-8" now, so just under my screen.

When I first put them in, I gave a 1/4 dose, and even that was in the 800's. When you calculate your PPM in hydro, do you do straight ppm, or subtract your starting number.. so if I start with water that is 310PPM, then my after nutes mixed in is 1310, is that 1310, or 1000?

24 days into Veg at this point.

Pretty happy with growth, but it seems water uptake is pretty low. Used less than half a gallon since res swap on Sunday night. Changing water pumps from 24x7 to 15min on/45 min off during lights on and 15 min on/1.75 hr off during lights off to see how they respond.

It is, hoping that will keep res temps down since I do not use a chiller. have also since switched watering times from 24x4 to 15/45 while lights on. No noticeable effect which is definitely acceptable. I had to throw some root block fabric in the bottom of the grow buckets since I got a couple really long roots in the res yesterday.

I swapped out the 5G res with a 18G tuff tote so I can have a bit more water in the res, it is also more light tight, even though that's not a huge concern since my tent and res are inside a dark shed. This should give me a little more breathing space once they (hopefully) start taking up more water, and make it easier to maintain pH in a larger res.

Adding eyelets to my scrog screen so I can change it from 4"x4" to 2" x 2". I used larger eyelets thinking I should be able to remove this second set of lines come harvest time, making it much easier to remove girls from the screen.

Pics of the config updates. I ended up doing 2x4 for the scrog, because it seems adequate, but more importantly it was a royal pain in the ass. In the future I think I will replace the round telephone wire I used with something a bit more pliable. I also ended up doubling up the 18G bin since the sides bulged a bit more than I was comfortable with.

Notes:
Added the active caron to my scrubber, moved it from hanging vertical in the corner to horizontal parallel to the cool tube. Also removed about 4ft from the exhaust ducting so I have a much straighter line to vent out. Temps are responding well, max now it 77 so I will be ready to swap in my 600 Ushio which has 90K lumen and mixed red and blue spectrum. If I have time before lights on, I will swap that in this afternoon and run it 18/6 so I only need to update my timer to start the flip.

I'm looking, reading, and learning, trying too anyways! Nice diy dwc buckets, they really look sharp with the imsulation. Good luck man, I'm on my first run ever, one day I'll be on my first hydro run. Stoked to watch your girls mature!

Thanks Joven. Hydro is definitely a learning experience for me. As long as this works out, I will be running an ebb and flow next with 6 plants in 5 or 6" netpots. I am hoping to keep veg time down to 2-3 weeks. I got a little 8 site 1gallon aeroponic cloner that I will take cuttings from the girls about 2 weeks after I flip them.

This pic makes it look a lot bigger than it really is, the inserts are only 1" in diameter. I hope the clones can stay in here until this grow is ready for harvest, assuming I will get at least 6 of them to take roots and survive the 5-7 weeks in this tiny bucket.

Swapped my 400W MH for the 600W Ushio, so this lights on will be with the bigger light.

I havent quite figgured out how to get multiple clones to behave in a shared dwc bucket, they get tangled after awhile and I have to cut them apart at the rootball. Something to think about.

That's just my cloner bucket. They will go into 6" net pots in an ebb and flow tray once the current batch is done flowering. The challenge may be that they will need to spend a few weeks in the cloner under a single CFL waiting for the space to be available. Assuming I can get at least 6 to take root out of 8 that the cloner can hold.

Fucking incredible is supposed to be 100% indica with a 7-8 week flower time. Since I will be taking my cuts 2 weeks into flowering, this should take them a little longer to root and the lower light hopefully will slow it down a bit while still allowing me to keep them in a holding patter for ~6 weeks.

**Flipped lights**

Today will be the first day of 12/12. Plan on swapping out the res on Monday to my flowering nutrients.

My plan is to run about 10 gallons of straight ph adjusted water through the system while I clean out the res (5 gallons recirculating for 10 minutes, then dump and run another 5 gallons through for 10 minutes) to rinse out any buildup during veg. I don't plan on running any flushing agent through the system, but I am really just winging it here :)

Oh.. I see, geeze that thing does look like a 5 gallon bucket.

2nd day since flip, managing canopy and scouting potential cuttings for clones.

Added:
2 gallons of tap water
10ML Grow
30ML Micro
30ML Bloom
5ML Silica

PH: 5.9
PPM: 1270

My PH had been around 5.5 for awhile, I adjusted up, but still 5.7 ish. It looks like I may have locked out mg so I adjusted up to 5.9.

Day 6 from flip

Decided to just adjust my timer clock because otherwise I miss my morning chance to make adjustments. They got 11 hours of darkness (in hindsight I probably should have gone the other way and gave them a little less light, but its still early in transition)

Res swap also today and I switched to full R/O water, made a HUGE difference in PPM. Tap water is coming out @ 420PPM.

Dumped old res and completely drained. Ran 5 gallons of non-PH adjusted water (mistake) and let that drain completely. Ran another 5 gallon of PH adjusted water and drained completely, run off was 430PPM so seems pretty clean.

Replenished res with 5 gallons of RO water with:
Grow: 12.5ml
Micro: 37ml
Bloom; 40ml
Floricious+: 5ml
Liquid Koolbloom: 12.5ml
Silica: 12.5ml
Cal/mag: 25ml
PPM: 678
PH: 5.5 (I will measure this again at lights on to check on drift)

Will probably add StressZyme+ at lights on as well. Res was very clean, some plant material in water, but no slime feeling at all. Water was running very clear after second 5G of water run through.
