OK, you want both plans. I'll have to do it in parts because it's lengthy and some take explanation. As soon as you are bored with it please tell me and I'll quit wasting my time.
Without is easy enough, I'll start there. Single payer catastrophic only, every thing else is self pay including out patient and drugs.
Drugs would be much cheaper without insurance. Here's something I learned working in a critical access hospital. I used to take Vioxx for my messed up knee. I had a 20 dollar a month copay for 30 pills, my insurance was charged the other 80 dollars. The pharmacist at the hospital told me since we gained critical access status we got drugs at cost. 100 pills at cost were 8 bucks, no insurance, no government. With insurance and government, those pills were 100 for 30, the insurance "paid" 80 for 30.
So that's just the very very basic idea behind it. It's going to involve the FDA being restructured also. It's a criminal entity now.
I'll stop there because if you are not really interested I'm not going to waste any more time.
I want to repeal EMTALA, Meaningful Use, Stark Laws and a few others that are escaping me right now. If you cared, I would let you know why.
