Hey everyone im about to try to start my first plant today but i would like to ask a question first.

i went to a florist place today and i have a good sence of humor and i like to joke around, so i asked some lady taht worked their "lets say my friend is trying to grow maryjane.... how would he start off?" and she laffed and said well... seeming how you want to grow i wouldnt mind helping you and stuff and she said my friend use to do it back then.

so she said i should start off with some seed starter which i brought its called Hoffman seed starter and i got some Jiffy Pots (12)

would this work if i put the seed starting stuff in the pot and put the seed in and once it starts to get stronger put it in like miracle grow?

she said thats how you should do it/try it.

has anyone done this with the seed starter?

thanks

sounds bout right. never heard of seed starter/ not suprised it exists though.
I would keep in jiffy pots thru whole grow. If I am not mistaken the roots can work there way thru the sides and bottom of the jiffy pots.
I would wait at least 3 weeks before I put it in any heavily ferted soil.
Usually most peep do not recomend using nutes until 30ds old

Yikes..you TOLD SOMEONE ALREADY.

First and foremost..the Cardinal rule is "Do NOT Tell".

ALL of the info you need is on the Net. you should not involve anyone else and it is unnecessary/dangerous in this day and age to do so.

good luck

buy a bunch of cfls ( compact fluorescent) bulbs theyre cheap and they work pretty good, if you get them you want to put the bulbs no more than 2 inches from the top of your plant, and put a couple on the sides of the plant

Ya im going to do that in a few days, but for now... would the sun be good or is their like a certine amount of hours i should have light on the seed? i mean i can use the sun for now and i have this other light i can use, its a good light and gives off good heat.

what kind of light is it?

also, you should germinate youre seeds first, its like a jumpstart, i would definitely do that if i were you. check in the Grow FAQ on the top left corner of the page. and yes the sun should be fine for now, depennding on how many hours it gets a day. good luck man!

flc huh? haha just bustin your balls bro. well this is what i do, i usually keep my seedlings under 48" flouro tubes for 24 hours a day, then in a couple weeks i veg them under a 400 HPS at 18/6. i would suggest those flouro tubes, the results are great, and they are cheap and easy to use and not to much power is used

haha shhhh.

well i just got some cfl lights, 26 watts for now. i will increase the watts later on in the growing and i got brought 2 of them. so for now im keeping my pot under both of the lights... im guessing i should keep it on their for about 24 hrs a day too? or let the sun do some of the job then ill use thoese. if that sounds good then please let me know. also how much water should i give the seed?

thank you so much

water them only when the soil is dry, you really dont need to water them much as babys. i personally know how much my pots weigh when tehy are freshly watered and when they ar e dry, i also have moisture meter pick one up if you can. and with the CFL's, get more of the same wattage, because too high of watts will burn the leaves and with like 20-30 watts you can put itt real close and the UV light makes trichomes(crystals) form on the leaves and buds. and for the lighting its up to you if you wanan do CFLs for 24 hrs a day or sun and cfls. good luck bro!
