wow! her own personal tent?! big upgrade from under the stairs....

She has come a long way from hiding under the stairs to a 2.5x2.5 cabinet to her own brand new 3x3 tent. Kinda like one of those tall lanky awkward girls back in my school days that turned into a hotty.

ahhh i see, it looked smaller than 3x3 , i guess that ck is just that big....big cup yield alert

She's really packing on the weight now and even the lower buds are taking off now that they're unshaded. Don't want to jinx myself but could this big girl make a run at 1 oz.

1 Ounce would be nothing short of spectacular. I'm not even in this competition and I'm super excited to see these girls :)

Weekly update time. First let me say how impressive the plants are in this comp. Voting will be very tough with this much quality. the colors, frost and bud size are amazing. My plants progressing well, she's 17 inches tall and getting more frost and bulk. I set a jar with a little over an ounce in it next to her to try and picture how much she'll fill one these. I know the captains got me beat with weight but bubbles is no slouch. I have a question though, she's basically one solid cola top to bottom am I required to chop her budding away from the main stem or can I leave it in one piece?20141108_140721.jpg20141108_140042.jpg 20141108_140001.jpg 20141108_135702.jpg

You could chop and hang the whole thing. Just trim it up really well and make sure the room has some decent air exchange to keep the humidity stable and not allow it to climb up too high. Might take an extra few days, but I've hung up larger colas than that off of my outdoor plants and they dried just fine.

Edit to add: Dude that's an awesome looking plant for a solo cup!

its not a question of whether it will dry or not...
look at whats going on around you before chiming in....

I'm pretty sure for "final weight count" you'll have to strip her.... Less you want everyone else's stem included in the final weight.... mines 14" with a stalk as big as a pencil! At least another 4-5 grams total when its dry

From my past experience in these comps...

You'll need to chop her up before the final weigh in picture, at least into more normal sized flowers, unless you can somehow carefully remove the stalk while keeping the flower intact. You don't want to start another "stalkgate" controversy...lol.

Dry her however you wish.

My girl has been hanging whole for the last 3 days. I'm giving her another day before transferring to the brown paper bag, and then trimmed down into flowers. Smells great...sticky icky.

Not sure I'll have as weighty a beast as captain, but I'll definitely be in the thick of things... :)

Thanks Frozen Chozen and KineBoisen for your input. Like frozen said maybe keeping the top budding intact but after looking her over again I really won't know until I dry her and start taking her apart how I'll do it. I do plan on drying her in one piece. I've come too far for any drama and I've played by the rules from start to when she's done and that stalk will be gone in the end. I'm happy to be one of the finishers and I think my girl belongs here.

I used to grow on and off for a few years until about 6-7 years ago I stopped. I started up again with LED just under a year ago and haven't really had a crop yet that I would be proud to call my own, even thought its better than 90% of the stuff I can get. Quality is not my problem its yield, but that will come. I have never attempted a party cup before, smallest was at least 1 gallon.

He is my weekly update, when I scope her I'm not really seeing any amber crystals yet lots of cloudy ones but no amber. In a last ditch effort to fatten up the lower section and spread light a little better on the plant I came up with a way to angle the pot and just rotate is when I can. Growth has slowed, I never really go in that room but I did check the temps last night a few hours after lights out, 59F at night 67F during the day. Its cold but the colours are vibrant and she smells like a dream, anyway heres my little beauty now.
