i`ll post up some pics of wf system once i get it all ready, before i go to flower. i got to work out the timing of the circulation pump and try and figure out a way to cool the air from the air pump. there is not a part on the system i haven`t made better, gurnt grunt more power!lol all i can say is careful what you wish for.......

well i`ve managed to get things put together enough to run it thru a cycle or 2. i got the pump timing worked out. the air pump i guess is what it is, pushing hot air into the pots. i still have to much splash from the rings, i`ll add some more pebbles in a few days, that should curb that and help get rid of the algae on the top. i know most of yall run screens, just to much work for me these girls are going all natural.

Simple, low cost way to circulate water with an existing WF drip ring pumping column.. it's as simple as putting a standing 3/4 column of water in the grow bucket that refills from the reservoir, not the grow bucket.... This water column is where the drip ring now pumps water for the plant.... As the water is pumped out of the water column gravity refills it from the resivoir....... I knew I was on the right track with the water column, I just had the damn thing in the wrong bucket before....

The water column should be thin wall 3/4 PVC, it has a bigger ID than the sch40 3/4pvc...,and the pumping column is a better fit in the thin wall .This setup will work with a GH reservoir and controler... or a roll your own..
. An 8 bucket WF, setup in this fashion, will circulate water 7 times faster than a single setup.... 7 times faster than a GH recirculating kit.... .. This is a pic of the side location for the water column, put there to line up with the existing hole in the top bucket... The hole in the top bucket stabilizes the water column and keeps it in place...
.The inlet to the water column in the resivior is 1/2"threaded to3/4"slip, reducing ell... a 2-1/2" cut off riser and a 1/2" threaded bard on the out side.... Teflon tape all threads, the cutoff riser should get a couple extra wraps for a tight fit... Only one washer is used on the inside. The water column parts came from Home Depot.. Don't glue the water column, the slip fit is good enough.....
For only a couple WFs 1/2: feed/return lines would be fine... The 1/2" setup return uses the old sight/drain 1/2"barb to connect back to the resivoir... For more WFs 3/4" inch lines would be better..Return 3/4 line water would exit the grow bucket thru a 3/4" grommet/barb

I always use a scrog screen with my WFs and sometimes want/need to move it... Instead of a permanent screen I made this one out of 1/2" pvc... the black piece is 3/32" abs to reinforce the plastic handle of the wf... Without some reinforcement the hose clamps will break the molded handle when you tighten down the 1/2" tee... Some zip ties secure the 2x4" plastic coated screen.. No need to glue the frame, it seems to work well enough without it... a plus being you can take it apart if need be... Not much to it, 4- 1/2" 90*ells, 4 1/2" tees, 4 hose clamps and enough 1/2" sch-40 pvc pipe for the frame... This a 24"X30" screen, but I think you could go as large as 36"x36" ..

Really got egg on my face,, again... Smoking and posting doesn't work all that well for me...:bigjoint: :dunce:
I posted the scrog screen a year ago..... Well a few more pics won't hurt.. I probably also posted this pic somewhere before ... Used double sided tape to stick it down..thought it might help if I pumped clean air through the wf and reservoir..... might cut down on spores, or other things looking for a water home... Had these filters laying around, they don't create any back pressure and may actually help...

Here's a tip for my fellow waterfarmers, If you have problems with splash from the dripring or mold growing on the hydroton it's a simple fix... Take a styrofoam plate, cut a hole in the center, then cut a slit from the side, and slip it around the stem of the plant... It's almost too simple...

i just cut the tubes so that the drip ring sits right on top of the pebbles.
