A-51 growers thread

It comes down to total yield expectations more than anything....and looking at g/w is how you get to that yield. Think 1g/w as a good grow expectation. Some get more, but some get less too, so just start there for planning. I don't like or support g/sqft really. It's miss leading and what seems like a great grow could be measly and not even close to max production per soft. More space cost to get the same that could be down in a smaller foot print will cost more than running more(actually the correct) wattage. Real estate is expensive, specially compared to power...even a Hawaiian's power bill.

2 75w's are NOT enough to compare to what you are trying to. The 150's are meant for a 2x2(ish)...so 2 150's in a 2x4 tent is what you need to keep up with 400-600hps. Maybe even more to keep up with the best 600hps growers...defiantly not less imo.

I would say 3 RW-75's would get the job done pretty well and 2 RW-150's would max out the space.
Which takes me back to what I said: add 7-8 Cree lightbulbs for $100. :) More coverage and flexibility in a shorter tent. We're just talking about my 22.5w to 25w, your 28w or GG's apparent max 37.5w.

I agree with GG's "cost of space" factor. 15g from 15w/sq ft would be 1g/w, but not efficient for the space used.

But, it seems like vertical space plays a role too. In a shorter tent, 37.5 sounds awfully strong.

Frank/Rosenthal (Growers Guide) said regarding T5 that 40w/sq ft was the optimum, and approaching 50w/sq ft was diminishing returns. (Not that you wouldn't get more, just that the cost of electricity versus cost of space wasn't as optimal.). I would expect efficient LED to be appreciably lower than that.

I wish there was a way to quantify these things for LED in a cu. ft. manner, quantifying where diminishing returns occur. Something other than equivalency to HID which many don't have experience with (and still masks HID watts per cu ft).

I have my 400hps about 12" from the canapoy and it's not hot really at all and running 73 at the canopy too. My plants are pretty short maybe 16" at the most but bushy.

The reason you light isn't there is your fault. Needing a light asap because your mid run and freaking out isn't a companies fault. Specially if warned of the possibility by said company before you ever clicked buy. Just saying...responsibility
Oh youre totally correct . I'm just wishing I had it sooner greengenes . I said I Was an idiot Already . I wish I just ordered somewheres else and it's my fault for not doing my due diligence of reading the everything . I understand their in the middle of a transition and getting everything squared away . It's my fault and im mad at myself . Yes the shipping sucks for my situation and it's my fault for not recognizing that. I would have gone with advanced but hindsight is 20/20

I am going to do a tray by tray I think...

2 trays size 4x2

2 area 51 2015 lights vs 2 300w advanced

It will be a beautiful event if I can make it happen.

Most def, I have no preference I just want the best I can get for a reasonable price. They can duke it out in true old school fashion, although I don't think I will be able to partition them so there might be like very minimal crossover on the bottoms. I will have to see how I can arrange it.
