Do You Take Testers From Your Plant?

So my plant is about 60 days old and I wanted to try a tester to see where we stand here. Do any of you guys do this and will everything be all good?

only noobs do this, after you been growing for a while you know better, but knock yourself out. you don't build half a motor and start it up to see how it runs. you have to finish it.
Unless your out of weed to smoke too :). I have clipped bottom nugs off a plant for the last week or 2 to have something to smoke...Snip it up and use a toaster oven on 175 degrees to dry it (20-30 minutes) that said, the flavor will taste nothing like the final product...more a little like it with strong hints of toast :)So it is not a tester, but a getter-byer

Thats the answer I was looking for. Thank you. That was extremely helpful and the reason I consider3ed doing this. Appreciate it.

Just remember that when you cut on a limb that limb will slow down and take longer to finish. so its not a good idea to cut buds from all over the plant. if your going to do it limet all cutting to the same limb.

I don't take tester buds anymore, or I'll get the urge to keep cutting, and cutting and cutting; especially when out of medicine. Now I just keep an eye on them trichomes and have all the tester buds I want at harvest.

yeah not good for testing really, you dont get the final smell, flavor and the smoke can be harsh going down. Just use it as a geter-byer like they say just a quick high lol

I accidentally snipped a bud off a time or two when I was thinning out the leaves….put it in a paper bag and let it dry out a couple days until it was dry enough to burn. It was alright. It wasn't a test at all, though, because when the plants finished and were dried and cured properly, there wasn't much comparison. That bud really didn't give much of an indication of what was to come after a proper grow, dry and cure. But…yeah, it was probably far enough into its trichome development that I couldn't help but catch a buzz from it, anyway.
