Amazing Work! thanks a lot to share!
I want to test in my prototype lamp this type of COB.I have right now 2x meanwell LPF-60D-54(1.12A) and 2x LPF-40D-36(1.12A) dimmable with pot 100k.
The 60D at max make 68W, the 40D at max make 47W, both tested after 24 hours of continuous stay realy cool in a sistem with 32 luxeon rebel best bin in 2 separate chanel with 12" fan at 64cfm with little fischer 160x200x25.

Someone should build some lights. Seriously one of these other brains on here. I have no time. A few projects here and there maybe but w all the crap being sold for high prices it would be nice to see a relatively affordable well built fixture.

We need an riu led grow light co. :-)

What are those little square waffle bar things I see inside the box?

My guess is a ceramic or polymer material, as they possess high levels of heat capacity (ability to absorb heat from external surroundings).

My guess is a ceramic or polymer material, as they possess high levels of heat capacity (ability to absorb heat from external surroundings).
They are made from soft & lightweight PVA foam.

They act against (possible ) audio 'static' waves ,absorbing sound and
they act also as " anti-rattle" .
They minimise the (possible ) audible micro-vibrations ( generated from fan's rotor mass) ,
of large metal surfaces of the casing.

Fan is also attached with it's genuine silicone anti-vibration pins.( It "floats" .)
Their heat ' storage 'capacity (as polymer foam ) is practically NULL.

On top lid the black thing is thick (polymer ) ' fleece',for the same reasons.
Also of Null heat capacity .

Before someone asks.
On top lid the two small alum profile bars,
are there to 'spread' the force of the fixture's mass ,as it is hanged.
( Acting as big rectangle ' washers' .)
So to avoid top lid deforming by time ,from fixture's own weight .

Cheers.

Sincerely,
Thank You.
of course I am sincere ... the knowledge and professionalism is evident in your creations as the passion and the pleasure of designing and building does the rest ...
makes me think that the best solutions come not from large companies .....
the "Stardustsailor Solid State Light Engine" is an exemplary case...makes me dream ... but also reflect....
I personally believe that people should understand for their own good but also for their "pockets", that projects like this can respond to their needs ... not other ...
