Any input on this t5

idk if its ever over kill if you have adequate air flow. t5s get hot. but let them babies soak they will love it. you could have a fat scrog or sog with that.
 
I was looking at that one several weeks ago. I think it's a good deal.....hell you can get two of those for the price of one 8 bulb fixture. If you look through the Q&A they say you can pick your bulb spectrum....not sure how you do it online though.

This will run hot considering the number of bulbs in a relatively smaller area. As long as you have ventilation that's up to the task.....go for it.
 
Yea, small pots.
Rows of 4-5 deep, 10-12 long.
2 mothers in separate cab.
Cloning cab.
Every few days 4-5 go in, 4-5 come out.
Hang the lights higher at one end. Shuffle everything to the left. On the days you shuffle, turn all plants 1/4 turn.

How did these fixtures work out? Looking at same footprint as yours. There was a vivagrow on Ebay that was extremely inexpensive with bulbs but reviews were unreliable. Was also thinking of 1 Quatuam Badboy T5 8 bulb.

After seeing this post, i did not consider two of these units. Did they fit in your 2x4 area easily?

I have the six bulb. An 8 bulb would fit with little clearance.

I should have been a little more clear. The six bulb is a ft wide at the bulbs.

I will order a second one and trim the reflectors and they will both fit.

It is a lite unit. You have to pick it up by the back bone. The reflector is flimsy some what.

I took it apart and inspected for loose wire or anything.

I'm sure there are better units. This one seems to be a fair product at a fair price.

Time will tell if it holds up. I'm happy with it and barring a major failure I would buy again.

I like the way its designed. If the ballast went out I would replace them with Phillips and keep it.

The 8 bulb would be perfect fit.
 
Thanks for the info. The 8 bulb looks good but i really want to get more info on the Vivagrow 16bulb unit. It has a footprint that is under 24" in width.

I'll look at it my self. I would say heat would be an issue .

Six bulbs hit 90 at the canopy with no ventilation, 78 with 190 cfm.

I monitored the temps at 2, 4, and six bulbs running. The difference between 2 and six bulb running is about 18 degrees difference.

I would say 16 bulbs would put it somewhere between 130-140 degrees that you would have to cool.

Mine is not a tent its a cab just over 6 ft. The extra height help dissapate heat or at least gives it a place to go so it cooler at the canopy.

In most cases heat would be an issue but i have it worked out where it should not be an issue for me. Plus the switches allow the fixtures to run less if needed. i ran many 2ft fixtures in the past as if they were 4footers but i would rather have one 4ft. that can be raised/lowered. The high bay fixtures look great as well.
I am more concerned about the quality and footprint match.
