Hey every one I thought I might as well post a log of my grow in case anyone was interested.
This grow is legal under Health and Safety Code Section 11362.5 and SB420 in the state of California
This is my first SCROG, I made the net out of a PVC frame and some nylon string spaced at about 2.75"
The tent was made out of a PVC frame wrapped with Panda Film. The lighting uses 2 CREE CXA3050 2700K led lights thermally glued to heatsinks. I made a ghetto DIY mount for them using the side of a computer tower to mount the cooling fans. One fan is sideways because it wont spin when upside down.
Strains
Left - Blue Dream
This one was topped and then topped a second time followed by LST
Front Right - Cherry Cookies (Cherry Pie x GSC)
This one was FIMed and LST
Back Right (cant see) - Big Lemon (custom strain given to me by a friend)
This topped with LST
VEG
I dont really have too many pictures for the veg, but I started with 5 seeds. I grew them in small containers <1gal and trained by topping/FIM and LST. I didn't move them to larger pots until I knew which were females.
The plants were vegged for about 2 months total, and the screen was installed about a week before flowering.
Picture of when I installed the screen:
Sexing
With a SCROG its pretty important to know if your plant is a male or female because once the screen is installed, its hard to remove a male. While the plants were vegging, I took cuttings from each one and put the cuttings in water(with superthrive) and went directly to 12/12. The clones did not develop roots at first, and showed sex within 2 weeks. I left them for a while and they started growing roots. I used 2 of these for a little side experiment and threw the rest away.
It looked like all 5 of my seeds were female with the exception of 2 which I was convinced that they were hermies. I threw one away and just flowered the other for the hell of it.
Flowering
Today marks day 1 of flowering, they just received their first 12/12 cycle. The screen is pretty filled already and it will be interesting to see how much they stretch.
I know that 3 plants is kind of a lot for this space, but I didn't count on having this many females. Here is a picture:
