Hey Mathias, alles dik in orde, beetje scheef

I plan to use active cooling, and as efficient as possible, 2 heatsinks 14x120cm with on each end a 14cm ventilator, one blows in, the other blows out, this connected through ventilation tubes, holes in the ceiling, will keep the heat out of the closet and in to my living room.
That way it is stealth and efficient ! I don't want to hear anything (living room) and if the cops come by for no reason at all, i want to be able to keep a poker face.

4 cobs, no problem.
So for now still 4 left (8 for me, 4 for Erlking and 4 for you :)

Drivers, i thought about buying through Meanwell'site, but my buddy tried to order them and apparantly you have to have a tax-nr, so i doubt it's for jan met de pet op :)

But you'd need other drivers if you'd want to drive them @1400mA, you could use those, but it's important for efficienty to get as close to max voltage as possible, so with that driver, ideally it's for 4 cobs.

The heatsinks are the lamp (aside from some pur-plates on top, that are light and easy to work with), i'm not gonna put it in a box or something,
drivers will be placed outside closet.

I don't have any experience selling on the web, and i thought it was easier through a site like RUI, and since it started all here for me... ('Another cxa3070 thread' 50? pages lol)
and here are the people who need them :)

will see, but for now they're all taken, still have to order them though, send my buddy a mail to try again, he's back from holiday.

Hey happy, you bet I am, where do you get them from ? and at what price ?
Been looking at cxa3590 and that are some sweet chips, but just too expensive (77€ / a piece !) (36V)

Is 6500K an option ? Looking at spectra a lot lately, and thinking more and more about mixing 2700K and 6500K, to get as much red & blue from the start, but will go with 3000K & 5000K if nothing else is available

Nice to meet some fellow Belgians here, first Mathias (Syrier in Belgium) and now you ! awesome ! where are you from ? I'm from Gent.

Always nice, when prices move in the right direction - I could use 4 more, since i just ordered 2 drivers, so i am up for 8 if possible? :grin::grin::grin:

Belgium sure got some very good beer, but it's a long way :eek:

I got very little experience selling on the web, usually just a buyer.

You could properly sell it to me though ebay, or i could just do a paypal transfer?? Like i said, very little experience:confused:

Just talked to Mathias, i only reserved 4 for you, but if he comes along to the meeting with happy (if happy wants to meet up), i don't have to pay for him, he can do it himself and i can pay those 8 for you :) (will be 24 3000K total then instead of 20)
For the moment, i'm waiting for an heritage, and i'm quiet short myself (keeps me from buying the other stuff)... But if there's a will, there's a way, so we'll make it work :)

About the driver, do you know what the efficienty is ? it doesn't seem like a dimmable driver though...
My mind was set on the same drivers that epicfail uses, this one, it's about the same setup (2'x4'), 8 cobs, 1/sqf, he said he uses most of the time 700mA and in bloom week 4-7 he goes full power (1050mA).
Since i'm gonna hang 3 5000K (or 6500k) cobs in the middle, i'm sure i'll want to dim them. It's one of the great things besides better spread and a higher efficienty then hps.
The only advantage of your driver is lower (splitted) voltage, and a great price (besides shippingcost to Belgium, 35$ !, that's more then the driver itself)

How do you plan to use them, have you already found heatsinks for your setup ?

I'm not really a beer drinker myself, but i know i'm in the right country for that !

we'll set something up through ebay, there has to be a first time for most of things, right ;) I'll have a look this weekend, can use the same account for that greek guy.

I really appreciate the effort you are putting into making this work. Again thanks to @happy75 and you.

The driver is according to datasheet 90% efficient at full load. (Source : Website)
The ST version is not dimmable, but the DT version is. I have however not seen the DT version for sale.

Since this is my first build, i wanted to keep it somewhat simple. 1 cob pr. sqf @1050ma - a fixture with 4 cobs covering 2 x 2. Only intended for flowering.
When the fixture is working, maybe some 730nm for putting them to sleep, could be a nice add on. Maybe reflectors like pos uses.
I do like the idea about a low voltage driver and less messing with the wires. The price is great, but shipping sucks...:fire:

I have not seen any decent heat-sinks in Europe. I sure like the ones from heatsinkusa, but shipping would properly be a killer.
However I do have some boxes with some Intel P4 CPU coolers, some with copper core, some pure aluminum.
Still not quite sure if the cob holders fit on those.

I'm sure that ebay, would work just fine ;)

Have a look at this thread for heatsinks in Europe, maybe we should start another thread for drivers in Europe

BirminghamAluminium : 1000 & 9000 series are worth looking into (also calculation thermal resistance)
FisherElectronik.de : SK418, SK530 and others :) (thermal resistance : first value = natural convection, second value 1m/s)

Will look for the dimmable driver, really like the splitted voltage and decent efficienty
I consider 730nm a must have, will add it once the cobs are setup.
Since i'm gonna grow Durban Poison (100% sativa) i need to add extra blue and UV too, but that's for later
