I can't tell if I'm ready to harvest or not (pics)

Hey. Inexperienced, first-time grower checking in. I did a single plant 12/12 from seed and it has been a pretty cool experience until now. I recently got a microscope to check trichomes and compare it to those charts but I'm not really sure if i'm right on this.

I can see very, very few amber (not sure if it's from the light or actually amber), a lot of milky and a lot of clear. So a couple more days?

Agree a pic of the bud would help. We need to see how swollen the bud looks not just the trichomes. To me id say it looks about done, But not if the buds are not swollen or are still fluff looking. Have most of the hairs turned color?

There were taken yesterday, lights are out at the moment.
The plant is essentially one huge nug and a few popcorn buds here and there, didn't get too big since the pot i used was small

I would let it go a bit longer. The yellowing is good though that is showing that the plant is using up all its stored nutrients. I'm not really seeing swollen calyx's, I see a bunch of hair but i think you should see the calyx's where the hairs are coming from start to bulge a bit and swell. I actually can't even really see the calyx's in the pic's. Maybe its just my eye's, I can make out a couple of them but they should be a lot fatter like they are going to burst when the plant is ready.

I'm not sure if I'm gonna flush, the biggest mistake I made was using a pot with very bad drainage. There is only one small hole in the middle of the bottom. I don't know what would happen if I drown the soil in water, don't want to get root rot at this point. I haven't used any heavy nutes either, only Biobloom and biogrow, hopefully it wont affect the taste that much

They will. if it was me i would put in some more holes then flush. making a few holes wont hurt the plant at all.

I'm thinking it is worth the risk to get them flushed. They might taste real real bad if not flushed well enough. So risking root rot to make sure they are flushed is still probably the way to go. I've accidentally broken some limbs off on plants that hadn't been flushed yet but were fairly close to harvest. So I dried what was on those branches and decided to smoke what was there as a sample, yeah bad idea. That sample was some of the most horrid smoke I've ever hit. It even smelled of like salt in the air from the nutes still there. You should be fine as long as that one hole can freely drain, like maybe raise the pot on a couple bricks with the hole in the center or set the pot on a milk crate or something for a bit while it drains.

haha, I could see where that might change to, The biggest mistake I made was not flushing.

I know its all opinions but you can get away without flushing with organics like bio bizz, its when you use chemical nutes that it becomes really important, not saying you shouldn't flush as I know it says plain water on the bio feeding schedule, but ive also known a few times people not flushing organics and its been fine

Thanks for the advise bro. I've been reading a lot on this issue, as well as a huge ass thread on this site about flushing vs not flushing. From what I read the taste and harshness of the smoke comes mainly from a proper dry and cure, did you properly cure the sample you were talking about for 2-3 weeks?
I will try to flush it though just to be safe, if I noticed that it isn't draining properly what should I do?

I was about to say the same thing, but I'm bouncing around in a few threads. So I ended up telling a new grower in another thread about not having to flush with organic amended soil. Like Subcool says, something like... Why are you talking about flush chems? You've been feeding the thing nothing but water for months. What are you going to flush out of it? haha

Id start checking about every other day for amber. As soon as you see amber start to flush. I see your top buds are more ripe then your bottom buds. Thats normal. This is why lollipopping is important. Apple tree growers lollipop because they dont like small apples. It also gives more energy to the top of the plant

What is the pot its in made out of? Plastic pot or terra cotta? If it's plastic I would add more holes like Mikec4c suggested. Terra cotta or some other type of clay pot might be tricky.
