well i know the resins is what everyone is after the veggie matter means nothing it comes down to the weight of oilCould be as low as 10% of an OZ, or it could be as high as 30% of an OZ. Really depends on the strain, the better the bud, the better and more yeild you'll get
couldn't agree more....its more genetics and nutrients that get the oil weight..
this is were we need to start the side by side experiments.. honestly.. organic living soil.. vs soil with organic nutes.. soil with chem nutes.. and do a bunch of lines.. in the same base soil.. and see whats hitting the biggest numbers oil wise.. also. best dates to pull down.... for best oil production.. or what additives to add late flower to increase oil production?
they are auto flowers they yellow up and die off with in 75 days of planting it ...........30 days or so in veggie then they flip into flowering 45 days .....the strains i found marked 90 days strains those are about 110/120 daysThe quality of the starting material is likely inferior. Time for new genetics unless you're an early harvester...
re yield: what others have said 're genetics. But what's of importance, at least to me, is the content of the yield.in other words i am below avg
4-3.5 grams
10% is 2.8 grams
20% is 5.6 grams
so i am about 15 to 17% ...........that is pretty crappy (would it matter that it is a auto flowering plant shorter time )
well the idea is to get a co2 extractor ............what i am doing now is mostly just BHO for a set number of ppl the rest i turn into vape mix for the e-pensre yield: what others have said 're genetics. But what's of importance, at least to me, is the content of the yield.
I find yield in terms of the ratio of oil to flower weight to be less useful than a density number for individual components, i.e., thc, cbn, cbd, individual terpenes, etc..
In this format you now have a better handle from which to dial in your final product, assuming your intent is to use the oil in another application.
Where is this $1700 co2 extractor at? I wanna see.well the idea is to get a co2 extractor ............what i am doing now is mostly just BHO for a set number of ppl the rest i turn into vape mix for the e-pens
co2 will let me make candies and other things plus the strait oil and the vape stuff .....i just wanted to get a handle on all of it before i invested 1.7k into a the extractor
always happy to share what i knowWhere is this $1700 co2 extractor at? I wanna see.
If your material is tested at 15% thc and you got 15% extractung you did well. You can only extract the thc thsts therethey are auto flowers they yellow up and die off with in 75 days of planting it ...........30 days or so in veggie then they flip into flowering 45 days .....the strains i found marked 90 days strains those are about 110/120 days
i guess i need to try some photos to get a reading on my skill lvl ..........i am assuming most u guys that replied are photo plants
as for the genetics i always go with one of the older breeders and the thc counts is 15% or higher with some cbds 1.4% 2.6% ....stick with autos because the turn around rate is much higher so in a year i can do more plants and experiments in one area tiny area vs needing a large one and 4/6 months of time
That could also be a non-laboratory way of finding out the thc/cbd/cbn/cbg % of your productIf your material is tested at 15% thc and you got 15% extractung you did well. You can only extract the thc thsts there
Looking at that unit, I bet it's 17,000 not 1700. If it's only 1700 I'd buy 3.always happy to share what i know
1700 bucks bench top auto run super critical co2 extraction
http://www.apekssupercritical.com/botanical-extraction-systems/1500-1l/
i found it after i got home from denver ........they said 1700 in june when i contacted them....as u see it is a investment the first little unit is 1700 then u can get 75% of what u paided for it back in a upgrade deal for a larger unit
i want my own shop or to be a manager/grower ....guy in the back running experiments on plants and ways of using the oils (candy making should be fun)
denver to me was a trade show and place i could see where my own skills are at compared to some of the top ranks in the field .........i think i am going to do it again i learned alot of stuff
still want to use some mad hatter soil see how it does
