high pressure sodium problem!

i jus got a high pressure sodium bulb and ballast of my friend. the problem is that when i plug the set up in, it warms up normally but then suddenly shuts off on its own. then in about 10 seconds it turns on again for about 20 seconds then turns off. it does this continuously. could this be a wiring problem?​

some time lights do that, if its a digital ballast i heard they save energy by doing that. ask your buddy what he says

Sure u got rt ballasst and bulb if all is correct open ballastt unplug 1st..................... Check capacitor if u have meter if not look for the top of it most if blown will be sweelled up ineed need a meter

Was it working b4 u moved it is 240 are 110???did u change any wires do u have a wiring diagrham?somthing is getting hot and going out on overload protection.damn no meter????????????????

it was working before i moved it. the thing with the 2 green zip ties around it broke. so i put tha ties around it. i dont know if that caused it.

Unlees u wired it up wrong and no meter has to be wrong voltage?? Try another plug in ur house if your sure it 110....and not a 240 like the ones for elec. Dryer are elec. Stove

The thing u cut the is it full of coiled up copper???? Read continutity with the meter ?????????????/ look and see if that copper coil has a break in it
