There's certain nutes that don't get taken up the higher the ph goes and the lower likewise... Soil has more buffers... So it can tolerate highs and lows better than other mediums...The highest I ever ran soil with Fox farm was 6.2.. I had good results I switched to coco a year later and dropped ph and BAM ... Coco ever since... Until nowI ph my nutes (in soil) between 6.2 and 7.0 and let it rip.
I wouldn't go under 6.2. Not sure why you say that's the max... hell that's my minimum.
