miracle grow mistake? help

So big mistake? Use miracle grow moisture control with time release fertilizer soil. Plants at about a foot. Mg soil says six month feed... will I be able to start flowering after a few more weeks or should I re-transplant in new soil. Did some soil test and nitrogen was high, ph good everything else low. How do I get a handle on the fertilizers time release so I can start fertilizing how I want to or have I ruined everything?

I see so many mixed reviews when reading online about mg. My main concern is with the high level of nitrogen will I be able to go into flowering properly with no real way to adjust nitrogen level due to time release... or will I just have less of a quality product due to the fact I'm not Co trolling fertilizers to what I've read is optimal.

So in your opinion all is lost and I will get nothing from what I have done so far... obviously I'm a newbie first Time grow but is there no chance for hope. Started to grow with lack of information but now I'm wanting to make things better or at least get some kind of harvest.

Their fertilizer will not hurt a 12 inch plant whatever you do...you'll be fine...just start with 1/4 dosage nutes and act accordingly..."ruined everything" no way...it's a good habit to add perlite to any soil you use...roots need oxygen and most store bought soils need to be amended...g/l

Simply veg em a bit longer and you'll be fine, lots of growers get good results with MG

Thanks for the heads up... u don't think that with the time release in the soil that adding extra fert even at 1/4 would hurt. I ask cause I am seeing some nitrogen defecencies such as a few leaves minor burn and some clawing happening. Since the soil is time release and has nutes I dont want to cause excess nitrogen problems, and plus I can't flush the time release exactly... well I don't think

I've grown small 2oz plants in miracle gro in the past, its not useless.

my new grow plants are in miracle grow soil 18 L expanded to 50 L when you add water says it has nutrients enough for 6 months so am not going to use nutrients in this grow got the soil off Ebay-)

The only thing that will hurt that plant is overwatering at this stage...they look like they're in their final pot...so with the soil being moister saving just monitor their water intake...start slow with nutes and you'll be fine...G/l

I used MG for years......(actually decades) outside never had a problem.....I did start to put it thru a screen to remove any big pieces of material. Occasionally I would add some pearlite and top dress with worm castings during the grow season other than that I always had good luck with Miracle Grow It is what it is a inexpensive alternative to mother nature! My experience is if you look enough you'll find problems where ever you look......good luck !

No, definitely not saying that. People have had results with MG, albeit not the greatest results, but that time-release issue can be a problem. Since you are new, please please please avoid the sales pitch at the hydro store for over-priced nutrients/bloom boosters/bud candy etc etc as your growing experience grows. You don't need all that piss in a bottle to grow healthy plants with good harvests.

Transplant them into somthing like biobiz allmix...u can grow with mg but its nutrient ratio is too hot for cannabis...put them in allmix and U.l be fine...what nutrients U using for flowering...if you start your seeds in allmix and vegg them for 4-5 weeks U don't need any grow nutrients .....just bloom....i use sensi bloom and it is excellent stuff ..everything the plants need is in it...including calmag..its 2 part ..a and b....iv used alot of diffrents nutrient lines and none came close to advanced nutrients sensi bloom...would recommend to any grower.. The issue in my mind is the lack of certainty and control over the nutrients. A MJ plant's veg cycle is so short and I'm guessing that mg is made for plants such as house plants that we veg for years hopefully... Personally I'd rather just go with straight perlite in a hempy rather than try to guess. It sounds like some people have had good results with it so I wish you good luck. I'd like to know how this works out. Like was mentioned be careful to not over water. This will release too much nutes all at once.
