eric garner said that an additional 7 times for a total of 11, before he died as a direct result of NYC Police Department using an unapproved choke-hold on a taxpaying citizen.

all the others dead? meh..who knows? we weren't there.

THIS time it's DIFFERENT..we ALL were there.

you may have noticed i've not blogged about the others..what came first chicken or egg?

I will tell you something though, black men and boys are taught at a very early age, to make no sudden moves, keep your hands where they can be seen.

what's moved me most about the eric garner case is, if you watch the YT, he was doing just that.

this case will be monumental and create change, but we've got one hella fight on our hands here.

i will be taking listeners calls..

The outcome is especially disturbing when you consider the reported reason for the roust ... selling loose cigs?

The brother wasn't paying city taxes ...

Fix the underlying cause and many of these cases of excessive force will go away:

1. End the idiotic drug war that has destroyed our constitutional republic and turned police forces into armed gangs and highway robbers;
2. Get the state out of people's lives;
3. Leave people alone.

whoa! wait a sec! YES! YES! YES!

this guy needed a "takedown" by the NYCPD HYENAS because he was SUSPECTED of selling loose cigarettes.

you don't know if the brother was paying sales taxes or not however, i suspect as a resident of staten island he was paying:

a local tax - staten island
a city tax - NYC
a state tax - NY
a federal tax - FED

just to live there.

EDIT: shaking this guy down for the pennies of sales tax he MAY have owed the city? an abomination.

you're way off base here.

with garners physique his breathing capacity was already impaired because of his weight.

what do you think all that fat does to your organs? it aids in compressing everything including his lungs.

this combined with the officer steadily increasing the choke much like a snake does.

it relies on the targets breathing outward where the trachea is collapsed an ever increasing pressure is applied to suffocate the target.

experiment: it took 18 seconds for me to say "i can't breathe" in the same fashion as garner.

once you lose conscienceness, the agonal process takes over and within 3 minutes you are brain dead; 6 minutes dead dead.

unfortunately, many of our rules and regs are because society deemed necessary because of systemic abuse.

the fact that there was no indictment on this case..this clear cut case, is more than disturbing.

Not to mention that there was a increasing number of grown men piling on top of him after the initial take down.

I agree --- Sky, it sounds like you've misinterpreted what I said. Based on my current knowledge of this case, Mr Garner was not the recipient of justice.

I am going to go out on a limb here and say that the suspect did not die for attempting to sell cigarettes.

My guess is he died while resisting arrest.

Any arguments?

He died from complications of being fat and other conditions and primarily due to fighting with the police.
