Never heard of a drawer grow. And the closets taken by my girlfriends hoard. I dontnhave any more bulbs, i have 23w sylvania CFLs on it now. Mix of earthbrites and sylvania 100w equivalent s I'm trying to say. 5 total all on the top laying horizontal. What's the difference? Don't be afraid to go into detail man please, I'll have the cash to get the right ones soon if I ain't got them now,I'm cfl dumb. Use to growing outdoors and with hps lights.
Put it this way, if you want the best grow with CFL, you want a high wattage. 30watt to 50watts if you can. anything under 30watt is fine it just means youl need more bulbs. For veg you want 6500k cool daylight whites. For flower you want 2700k or 3000k warm whites. The more CFLs you can get in there, the better off your plants will be. I do like more lower wattage bulbs personally because no matter if you have a 50watt cfl above the plant, it still wont penetrate the lower leaves and branches. And having a shit load of high wattage CFL's is wasting power. So if you can (IMHO), get about 6-8 20-22watt CFLs. And try to get them all horizontal next to each other. So they go right across the grow area and illuminate the far sides of the plants. sorta something like this.
Iv always loved this design personally aswell lol. Its quite good. But other issues affect this aswell though because i dont think this would be suitable fit in terms of size for a PC case. Another easy VERY cheap option is a big cardboard box. Preferabbly one in good condition as bends and what not in the cardboard will cause it to fall over and warp. cutting one side of the cardbox out so you can easily veiw you plants and water ect.. Cut the top parts of the box off so you can set up the lights. the bigger the box, the better, because the higher it is the more room for bigger plants, and helps with heat issues. Or another way is to stand the box on its side, and have the top of the box facing sideways so the flaps open out like doors. And have your light fixture at the top. Only thing thay will really cost you money is either mylar, tape and or glue.. I guess tin foil would be ok but you want the dull side reflecting light not the shiny side as it can cause hot spots. And as for ya gf using uo the closet, haha shoulda figured that lol.
